Offensive blackhole that they buried in defensive zone starts - will be interesting to see how he does with a change of scenery.

Lots of bitterness towards the player in Ottawa as well due to the failed return for Spezza, similar to how lots of people disliked Stajan at first just since he was the return for Dion.

If we could somehow mix Raymond with Chiasson we could have a high impact scoring RWer

My guess Jooris is gone. I would also think a buyout of Raymond or sending to the minors will happen. They are going to need a spot for Chiasson on the 4th line.

The best part is the salary for Chiasson. They can send him down if he clears and it won't cost them anything cap wise. That bolds well if Hathaway has a great camp. Bollig could see a lot of time in pressbox also , no matter what Burke said about him.

Just reading some comments from Sens fans, they sure seem to be happy he is gone. After watching some videos him playing, scoring and fighting, I like what I see. Whenever we played Dallas or Ottawa I already noticed him as a bigger body out there, which is good. We need more of that. I wouldn't say this is a slam dunk and fixes any issues we have on the RW but it does improve our team IMO. A right shooting, right winger who can hopefully help out our powerplay. It looks like he played on the PP in Dallas, which likely is why he had more points then when he went to the Sens, where it seems he was used for more of a defensive role than offensive.

I like this move by BT and I think the dollars he was signed for is perfect. Best of luck to Sieloff, there just wasn't any room for the guy considering our depth at the position now.

Sounds like the Flames told him he will get a top 6 opportunity

Wes Gilbertson @WesGilbertson
Just finished conversation with #Flames newbie Alex Chiasson. Really excited for fresh start, anxious to prove he can be top-six material.

Meh.Other than Bollig, the flames have probably told everybody on the bottom 6 they have a chance for top 6 role.

If he's defensively responsible (as Sens fans have said) then he might fit in nicely on Backlund's wing? He would easily re-find some scoring.

Do people still think this won't affect Colborne? Not exactly a vote of confidence for #8.

Yeah most players seem to excel with Backlund. Could see Chiasson with Backs and Frolik with Bennett.

Chiasson himself thinks he can be top 6 - that is good, he is aiming high. That is not the team penciling him in...
