Default Clothing Donations (Not sold to VV)

I know a lot of the drop off bins for clothes donations end up getting sold by the pound to 2nd hand retailers (ie: Value Village).

Any place where I can donate clothes where they actually give it to people in need, or sell it themselves to fund other programs?

Just some ideas for you off the top of my head:

Women in Need Society (WINS) - http://www.womeninneed.net/donate-goods/

Goodwill - http://www.goodwill.ab.ca/get-involved/donate-goods/

We've dropped off directly at the Mustard Seed, I think the Drop-In Centre takes donations as well. I don't know what they do with clothes they can't use.

I gave a bunch of clothes to the Drop-In Centre. They have a drop-off location by Deerfoot and 32nd.

One thing they're always looking for is clothing that people can wear to job interviews.

I recommend Making Changes Association for women's and teen girls' attire; the program names are Walk-in Closet and My Best Friend's Closet.

This is where I take my old suits, dress shirts, ties and dress shoes for this exact reason. I recommend donating here.

I usually try to donate to one of the non-profit thrift stores like Goodwill or WorldServe and not Value Village because they are a big, corrupt, for-profit company actively trying to deceive the public into thinking they are a charity through their advertising.

Hey Chingyul, remember the time we got your Atari and like 30 games from Value Village for like $20 back in 90s? What happened to that thing?

Was it value village? We got one at a garage sale, and I know we got the second from a store, but thought it was maybe goodwill or a cash converters.

I think they might be lurking around the basement.
