I wonder why the Cauncks not trade down, if they wanted a D.
Seeing Craig Button had the Flames picking Juolevi in his mock draft it may have spooked the Canucks. You have to wonder if that was by design by the Button brothers to make sure that the Canucks wouldn't trade down.

Yeah, when a concern is raised about an elite prospect's skating, it isn't that the skating is bad. The concern is that the skating isn't as elite as the prospect's other skills. So the concern with Tkachuk is that his skating is 'only' above average. If his skating was poor, there's no way he would have been a top prospect in the first place.
exactly... you don't rise to being projected #4 being a crappy skater...
his skating isn't elite but as many have mentioned, its not like he's awful either...easilly correctable and i imagine he'll do fine in the NHL at least skating wise.
I'll tolerate his name simplified to Chuk if it helps. But even that will become Chuck...
I'm waiting for the inevitable superfluous Us and Os to find there way in there somehow.
Regarding the player, I'm not expecting him to make the roster out of camp. It will be a nice bonus if he gets a 9 game audition or sticks around even longer.

Never much cared for his old man, a hated rival, but, I hope the kid works out for you guys.
I do hope that the majority of Flame fans can be patient and give him time to grow into the next level, without expecting him to be his father, right out of the gate.

Looking forward to 17+ years of CP posters butchering the spelling of his last name.
Tkachuk is Ukrainian name meaning Weaver. Tkachuk and Tkaczuk are different transliterations of cyrillic spelling of the same name. Fwiw the correct spelling is Ткачук.

But there are 30 tables and probably multiple teams making calls at the same time. How can you be sure the calls weren't going on with other tables that you weren't watching?
They were the only two in the phone and hung up at the same time. Maybe he was ordering pizza. You don't have to believe me I really don't care. If you were there you would know it was very easy to tell. I watched Brad all night.

I always thought it was a Ukrainian name, but I heard that Keith Tkachuk identifies strongly as an Irish American (Irish on his mother's side).
