Helllll no maaaaaaaaaaan. Forget that sheeeit.

Oil can have their Puljujarvi. We got a guy who five years down the line will be every bit as good but in different ways. Tkachuk is a winner through and through. We are so damn lucky to have him.

The oilers need D way more than F. Then they pick another F with their 2nd. Never change!

Don't care, the way I see it the Oilers can keep picking forwards. The fact is that I believe that the Flames rebuild is ahead of the Oilers now.

Sure the Oilers have a guady top 6, but Calgary is moving into that realm as well.

Edmonton Hall, McDavid, Eberle, RNH, Draisatl, JP

Calgary Monahan, Gaudreau, Tkachuk Bennet.

Out of the Oilers top 6, Eberle and RNH are meh, and Draisatl has had a half good season and the wheels came off last year.

Blueline Calgary is far far ahead.

Calgary Gio, Brodie, Hamilton
Edmonton Sekeras, Klefbom

Not even close

Goaltending

Edmonton Talbot
Calgary Elliot

Pretty even, but it will be interesting to see if Talbot can maintain his god mode from last year.

From a UFA situation, Calgary can probably add one more top 6. Edmonton can, but they are in a interesting Cap situation. Plus Edmonton needs to trade or punch a hole in their top 6 group of forwards to really try to close the gap with Calgary on the Blueline.

Me too. Especially with a Finnish GM running the Blue Jackets, you have to wonder if he knew something. In fact, it's the only reasonable conclusion to draw.

Now... whether or not "what he knew" turns out to be true is another question. But he must have had some info that everyone else didn't have.

Do you think Oiler fans are upset about picking JP because we got a better player than we would have too?

No.

Worry about our team. Who cares what the Oilers do on draft day?

At the end of the day who cares what the other teams do? The Flames got a great player who fell into our lap for the 3rd time in 4 years.

We have been very fortunate to have the Canes take Lindholm, the Oilers take Drasaitl and the Canucks to take Jolevi leaving the Flames with Monahan, Bennett, and Tkachuk

We just spent 8 weeks debating the same half dozen players. Can't we put it to bed now?

Wasn't aware that we were holding you against your will and forcing you to read a thread whose title made it obvious what the content would be.

could not care less about who the Oilers drafted.

They were ALWAYS getting a player better than Calgary due to the fact they suck and are a horrible organization. The fact they picked another foward to add to their vast collection of forwards shows just that.

I don't think Pulijujarvi is going to be that much better than Tkachuk on the Oilers to be honest, especially on a line with McDavid.

However, I DO think that Tkachuk on Calgary is a big upgrade on who we were projected to get...

Edmonton moved into the 1st tier, but we got one of the top 5 players...I'll take that any day.

Don't care. We got a great player that probably wouldn't have fallen to us if Columbus didn't go off the board. We should be ecstatic with that. You can go on about the if's and but's until cows come home. Won't change a thing.

Let's concentrate on Tkachuk and be excited.

At the end of the day all I care about is the Flames. I don't give a crap what Edmonton does. Tkachuk all day every day.

It's a perfect scenario. We get the guy we wanted and Edmonton drafts yet another forward. They're going nowhere without overhauling that defence.

That's interesting. They reported yesterday that Oilers were going to take Sergachev. Glad things turned out the way they did then. I like Tkachuks attitude and determination.

Tkachuk >>> Nylander

Who cares who EDM got, that wasn't in our control. I'm glad how it turned out because Tkachuk was one of my favorite players this draft.
