Will the Flames acquire another goaltender?

Brad Treliving didn't rule out the possibility of the @NHLFlames acquiring another goalie. They have Elliott at No. 1, Ortio at No. 2 now.

Guessing if they do it is to upgrade on Ortio.

Friedman has already named Hutton as a possibility.

Is Ortio a tradeable asset? RFA rights? Might get a low round pick.

Hutton can certainly carry 25-30 games.

Dog and pony show starts tomorrow though. So There's a good chance a guy like Hutton would look at Elliott and be sold on x amount of games.

If they plan on extending Elliot then I see no point in giving up any assets to acquire another goalie when you can only protect one from expansion.

I'd be fine with signing a more proven NHL back up though via free agency.

My first choice at this point would easily be Chad Johnson (Reimer unlikely now IMO)

Calgary kid, played a lot for Buffalo last season with solid numbers.

I'm also OK with having Ortio/Gillies/Rittich battle for #2 as well.

Ortio needs to not be a number 2 anywhere if he is to improve.

I think he's gone unless the Flames give him an opportunity which I don't think will happen now that Elliot is here.

I'd be ok with him as backup. I thought he played pretty well after Ramo got hurt.
