Here is a player that is pretty exactly what Flames brass keeps saying they need. Big, mean, can play top six and score, and he's still young enough to contribute for many more years (IMO).

Johnny is smart enough to play RW of need be.

He would be a great fit for that line, big mean and he has won a cup. Just the kind of leadership that would help the young guys take it to the next level. A good mentor for Bennett, Tkachuk guys who like to play the same type of game.

Yes he was, for sure, but he isn't a scrub either.

All of these options would be fine, but I don't want to spend a ton to get anyone, so really, whoever offers the best bang for the buck.

I'd personally be interested. It's amazing how far he has fallen in the last couple of years. I'd imagine their would be quite a few teams with interest however. I am curious if buy low is really an option here. Could be Vincent Lecalvier2.0.

Worth a PTO or a very short-term deal.

He's 32 but loves the game. He'll be getting his buyout money so I'm sure he'd happily take a year or two at $1m AAV somewhere.

Not big, but not small either and is a #### to play against. A right hand shot and compliments elite players rather nicely. Also still just 28 and probably won't cost more than $4 million per.

He's hitting the open market because a $5.75m/year offer from the Isles wasn't enough. Wants $6m and term. I doubt there's a fit under the cap for us, although Elliott is currently much cheaper than the other goalies we were after.
