I don't want to trade 6OA for Bishop, but goaltending is huge. It's probably the most important position in the game and is certainly the hardest to develop. If you have to trade 6OA for a guy who has been a Vezina finalist the past two years, it may be hard to swallow but probably isn't that bad of a deal.

Yeah, I'd be amazed if 6th gets moved, especially after reading interviews with Conroy and Treliving the last few days, they seem to like picking there.
2017 first wouldn't be off the table. If Tampa is doing this to re-sign Stamkos they won't want much salary back. Can throw some 2nd rounders their way too, maybe a guy (or guys?) like Poirier, Klimchuk, Kylington? Lots of pieces to make this work without using #6

I doubt that. He is already making nearly $6 million. Add in his play has gotten better since signing his last contract, I would think It's closer to $7 million per year. I really don't know how I feel if they go the bishop route?

I suspect Treviling has 3 offers out to The Penguins, lightning, and blues for what he'll take. Now he sits and waits until the pressure ramps up on those teams.

Yeah and even moreso with Bishop already at 29/30 and basically a rental. If you're talking 24 year old vezina finalist locked up, maybe, but especially with the market being set by Andersen deal, it would be a major mistake to move 6th overall.

There's a good chacne 6th overall is in play though. Schneider got 9th overall and was much less proven than Bishop. We're talking about a Vezina nominee here.
I have faith Treliving can find a way to make it work without 6th overall though. At least I hope. I remember having a similar feeling last year with the Hamilton trade though and e know how that turned out. Yzerman isn't Sweeney though.
