Yeah ferland definitely not even close yet. But let's see a few years down the road. He was starting to find his groove with Bennett at the end there.

Just saw this:

The Sharks have offered the rights to James Reimer if anyone is interested while the Calgary Flames seem to be the Milan Lucic front runner.

He brings a dynamic that could definitely benefit the Flames. Unfortunately he is dangerously close to the fine line of being a contributor and a detractor. His expected cap hit will also make him a risky addition.

I'd be welcome to seeing him in a Flames uniform if Treliving thinks he can make it work out, but any missteps or if the Flames lose a valuable player due to cap concerns and Lucic will quickly become the whipping boy around here.

How would the flames be the front runner? Can someone explain can they talk to him now?

I would much rather see the Oilers or Canucks give Lucic too much money and term.

I'd love him, but how could the Flames afford him?

I take it the Kings have granted permission for other teams to talk to him? He isn't a UFA quite yet.

Lombardi sent out a letter to all the GM's saying that the Kings were done with him so have at 'em.

Flames just pushing the price up. No cap space for Lucic.

Lane then suggests it's purely his opinion based on the direction the Flames seem to be going. Nothing to see here and Ashasx is right. Flames can't afford him.

I think Ferland fills the roll and a fraction of the price.
