Hamilton is no more proven as a #1 than a 4th pick that Treliving wants. And again, Treliving is on a clock here more than Chiarelli. 6 hours left to move up.
What exactly is he on the clock for in this scenario? I think you have it backwards. Rumours are Treliving wants to move up in the draft. Uh, news flash. Everyone does. Treliving wouldn't be doing his job if he isn't exploring every possibility. Doesn't mean he's feeling pressure to move up. Chiarelli, on the other hand, is definitely feeling the pressure to get a top pairing dman.
And Hamilton no more a proven dman than the 4th pick? You do realize Hamilton has played a few years in the league by now right? He is way more on his way to his potential #1 dman status than a mystery box draft pick.
I swear, some people just have no patience whatsoever. I didn't realize dmen now peaked at the age of 23. I guess it's all downhill for Hamilton from here huh?

Hamilton is no more proven as a #1 than a kid who's never played an NHL game? We don't even need Hamilton to be a #1, we already have two of those (and he's pretty fricken close).
Treliving is on the clock? How so? Why is he on the clock to add the #4 pick, something that isn't projected to be discernibly different than the #6 pick?
If Treliving does nothing but trade a mid-pick for Elliot (or add any goaltender of decent quality, none of which will require the moving of one of our best players), and draft #6, this day will be a success.
Stay on topic. We are discussing a Flames Oilers trade that sees Treliving with the 4th overall pick. Not some other scenarios.
And no, I am not saying that Treliving has to make a trade. I am just commenting on the ridiculous offers that are being discussed if a trade were to happen.
This place is just a ticking time bomb. I love it!

Ok to clarify because you guys are all over the "on the clock" comment like a stink on a monkey.
I am only discussing a Flames - Oilers trade for the 4th pick. Therefore, if Treliving wants it, he has few hours to do it. Oilers can get their #1 Dman any time during summer.

Clear as mud?
Yet they have had 8 years or more and haven't

The trade offers have to be ridiculous to give up a 23 year old defenseman on the cusp of top-pairing status. It really just makes no sense at all for a team in the Flames position to move him. Which is why the offer has to be ridiculous to even consider it.
I wouldn't trade Hamilton for #4+Hall, much less the other way around. You get a worse player, who is older from a poisonous organization which he has played a large part in poisoning, and the HOPE that #4 will turn into a half decent player, which is not even close to guaranteed.

Seriously, why so hard to understand that the Oilers have more time to make their move than Treliving? If you want a 2016 draft ick, you must make that move today...wow....
