Yeah all of this blaming of white people being racist is in itself a bunch of racial stereotyping BS.

As the chart above shows, let's blame the real culprits: old uneducated idiots.

EDIT: From last page, that FlameOn posted.

That's true to an extent. There seems to be a growing amount of white elitists that loath the white lower class.

But really, not for a lack of trying.

And the Empire leaving wasn't so much something that the UK wanted to as it had to do because after two expensive wars, it no longer was capable of controlling large parts of the world.

Data shows is much more an cranky, old and uneducated problem than anything else. Basically a big FU by baby boomers who reaped benefits of social programs and cheap property in their youth, dismantling those programs in their old age and now burning the bridges of opportunity behind them.

The old have the least to lose economically by this and voted overwhelming to screw over the economic opportunities of the generation that followed.

I see this less racists than old people who want to restore the glory of the UK and not accepting that it's long gone.

I mean the empire has been gone for 70 years, let it go.

Even this election cycle, the alleged cycle of being "anti-establishment", I think I saw there were 209 primaries held so far, and in 205 of them the incumbent candidate won.

People just are easy to prey on emotionally. That's been the GOP calling card for years, and it was the calling card of the Leave side. People are willing to go against their own interest if you can create a sense of fear in them about irrelevant, emotionally based issues. That and the stupidest ####ing trend in recent history, politics by meme'ing. That's scarily and sadly how many get their "facts".

i think it's a bit different this time. The fact that republicans lost to Trump could mean one of 2 things.

1. They ride the Trump wave and piggyback back into the House.
2. Trump loses in a landslide and Democrats win 2/3s of the House

Heck if it turns out that Trump is garbage remember that the Republicans lost to that garbage. We will see if Washington is truly broken or not.

While I'm sure the younger demographics overall wanted to stay in the EU, those exact values may be in debate given how the research firm, YouGov, was wrong about the referendum results and the last general election.

Read.

Stop getting duped.

The economic claim was never valid. If you want to put more weight on sovereignty and immigration, I totally accept that. You're not going to win on economics because no one except the Brexit vote committees agree with you. That article is just literal stating the claims of the Brexiters. Repeating their claims in a Vox article isn't proof.

Not even Brexteers could agree with him.

The thing is that it's not like it was unanimous amongst the younger generation. It appears by those statistics that a majority of the younger generation wanted to stay but that doesn't make up a country and everyone's vote counts the same as any other regardless of age.

Not the whole world, no. Just Manchuria, China, Korea, the Philippines, Indonesia, Vietnam, and Thailand.

And Britain didn't colonize and pillage Eastern and Southern Europe, where most of the EU immigrants flooding into the country come from. When Poland joined the EU in the 2004, the British government forecast 80K Poles would immigrate to the UK over the next decade. 600K came. No doubt they were good for the economy on the whole. But those numbers didn't inspire a lot of confidence that anyone really understood are was in control of the situation.

Certainly there are many reasons intertwined with this vote - including the EU's power struggle and what-not. But everyone knows what drove this vote. Pretending otherwise is counterproductive.
But is the resistance to mass immigration to Europe simply about racism? Or are there concerns of overburdening social programs, health, welfare, etc.

It seems crazy to me to have something so incredibly important to be decided by a 1% difference in voting. You'd think there would have to be a 60% majority or something.

Hmmm, wonder how he feels about this now (from mid-May)

Quote:
Nigel Farage warns today he would fight for a second referendum on Britain in Europe if the remain campaign won by a narrow margin next month.

The Ukip leader said a small defeat for his leave camp would be “unfinished business” and predicted pressure would grow for a re-run of the 23 June ballot.

Farage told the Mirror: “In a 52-48 referendum this would be unfinished business by a long way. If the remain campaign win two-thirds to one-third that ends it.”

Nope, now it's just a victory for normal people, for good people, for decent people.
