To be fair, their pick is pre-stink. They haven't had the chance to taint the asset.

Draft picks are overvalued this time of year. Their value is highest today. The value fundamentals of trading assets for a draft pick on draft day are beyond me. The thing to consider is human irrationality, hopefully from other GMs not ours.

I suspect it would be Sergachev + Tkachuk. And don't forget the whole premise is that the cap space enables the Flames to acquire and re-sign Bishop.

I doubt it happens. But it isn't a crazy, lop-sized proposal.

^^Chiarelli is smart guy, i just don't get the Seguin trade though, that was a horrible deal. I wonder if he is now gun shy about trading away young talent. He is probably asking for too much.

Of course that's ideal for the Flames, but that doesn't mean he's the asset others would be willing to give us what we need for.

1. He's the oldest of the 3, so less time in his prime, and a very heavy contract coming up at the tail end of his career.

2. Can the Flames even trade him optically? What does that do to the internal locker room now, and what does that do to the Flames reputation? I'm not saying for sure you can't, I'm just saying it's food for thought.

The Flames would have a much tougher time trading Gio for what they need to improve up front than Hamilton I believe.

That seems short sighted. You dont trade your best players if you come in 25th. You address why you came in 25th. Was Hamilton a major reason we came in 25th? Not in my opinion he wasnt. Guys like Wideman, Hartley and other reasons are why we failed last year.

Kessel for two firsts was a pretty good deal for Boston.

This is the outright dumbest piece of speculation that I've ever heard, and it goes back to every draft pick is a shiny new and stupid toy.
Frankly if Hamilton was older and near the end of the contract, sure go nuts.

But trading a very young very good defenseman to a divisional rival that might (ha ha) fight you for (oh god my stomach hurts from laughing) for a playoff spot someday in exchange for the hope of a player that might someday be as good or remote possibility wise is right out of the pages of a video game.

I have a great idea, lets just perpetually rebuild.

Frankly if we were trading Hamilton to Edmonton, I would make sure that I would be asking for a near crippling over payment, at the same time Edmonton would be doing the same thing with the fourth to Calgary.

So no there is literally no way this is happening unless its the fourth and someone like Klefbom or Drai for Hamilton, end of story.

But Captain (you say in a voice that sounds like a wheezy old man on his death bed in a bad off broadway musical ). That's the asking price for Subban according to fantasy bloggers and reporters. And my response, yes it is because they're a fricken divisional rival.

Yes. Reunite Jones with his old partner from Portland in Wotherspoon.

the bottom line Is that Chia has had his rectum split open in his more major moves.

So I want him to hurry up and finish his year long evaluation and get on the task of wrecking the Oilers.

Will Jones' asking price be over $6M? If so, Columbus will save some cap room with Dougie.

At over 6 million bucks do we really want him?

Hamilton is top pairing capable as he develops at 5.75
