Loving this speculation. Would love to see the emotion, stellar play followed by massive flubs in the west. One game a year is not enough!!

Have to say that I have much respect for P.K. for his donation to the MTL children's hospital. Will forever be a fan and more excited to see him often.

I used to really hate Subban as well, but his massive amount of work in the community - the most famous of which was his contribution to the Children's Hospital that overshadowed the rest - really makes me like him. I haven't seen an interview with him outside the rink where it made me feel he was anything other than a really good person.

Wouldn't particularly want him as a Flame - even if it would made sense by not having a Giordano, Brodie and Hamilton - but I do think he seems like quite a good person off the ice.

So, it was all a load of hooey after all. Media wags who were bored. Of course Bergevin is getting calls about PK. I'm sure the rest of the GMs in the league get calls about their better players as well. Bergevin would not be doing his job if he didn't listen to offers on all of his players.

It wasn't just "media wags." This all started when that imbecile Dim Benning blabbed to the media about working on a trade for Subban, and in fact went on record to say that he believed a deal would get done.

This what bugs me about the whole rumor mill in general.

So a team calls another about their best player, and the GM listens to what they say (as they should, you don't just say "NOPE!" and hang up the phone), and all of a sudden it's:

SUBBAN BEING SHOPPED!!
MTL ENTERTAINING OFFERS!!
ZOMG!!!

Like, relax people. It doesn't matter who's calling or what they're calling about, if the other GM doesn't at least listen, they're not doing their job.
