I'm doing fine. Not trying to squeeze joy out of the misery of others I don't even know.
Sad life.

I'm going to link this article from Vice (pardon the source, I know it's garbage) but this opinion piece I think really hits the nail on the head on the anti-immigration movement.

You are right. That article was a piece of racist trash.

Well the British pound is at its lowest value in 30 years. The Euro has taken a hit as well. This doesnt make sense economically for the Brits, but then again it wasnt a money decision. It was a bunch of anti-immigration folks who felt like the EU was to blame for the end of the 'good old days' in Britain. Basically it was the UK version of the Trump voters.
I think this is a bad move. Bad for betraying Scotland, mucking up trade relations, etc. Hope they have a lot of entrepreneurs.

Doubtful, and at this point, I doubt Parliament would go against the Will of the People.

It's not hate speech to call them out on that bigotry.

This is just very simplistic, even if you kind of buy the anti-immigrant line we are talking about eu immigrants like Greeks, Poles, Hungarians, Croatians, and so on. These people are very white. Yes some people have always been resistant to immigrants taking away their jobs, they need them to survive, but it is literally not a black/white issue.

Barely a blip on the stocks I follow. That's disappointing, I was in a buying mood this morning.

Don't be so dramatic. It is kinda funny, and I'm a liberal! With some of them you'd think the world was coming to an end and they have no banks, corporations or conspiracies to blame, just their own voting populace.

Look I don't know much about this, its interesting from a political standpoint, and the short term fallout from it is going to cause some problems economically on a global scale.
But I think that its way to early to be jumping out and saying its going to be an outright disaster, I think that it will be interesting to see what the trade agreement negotiations look like and how the de-integration of the markets is going to look.
Its also going to be interesting to see how Britain re-sets its immigration policy.
As for Canada, yeah, there's going to have to be new trade agreements with the UK and GB.
Personally I don't think that the EU was all that great, and I get why the brexit vote happened and why it happened.

Because of socio-economic inequality, pure referendums or elections can be swung by uneducated masses who make knee-jerk, foolish decisions such as voting for Brexit or Trump.
Democracy gives way to Ochlocracy (mob rule) or a tyranny of the masses.

But shouldn't they love this because its one step from moving away from Globalization, which they claim to hate? They should be ecstatic.
You'd think that groups like labor unions would love it to because the change in immigration policy will mean less jobs going to immigrants for cheaper.

I think it's sad because it's not really racists that did this, it's a huge number of people who think that things can actually go back to the "old way".
I feel bad for them because it's false hope.

Except the EU thinks that the EU is great. When EU representatives were asked this morning whether or not they will be hard on the UK in post-Brexit negotiations to prevent other referendums, they said 'no, we don't need to be tough, UK was stupid enough to leave but no other countries would be, they would go bankrupt!"

How exactly did they break government?
My thought is that people can just retreat into their echo chambers now and never learn enough about the other side to actually make an informed decision.

Its interesting, because the EU supposedly functions because countries will go broke and Germany will have to bail them out. Frankly I'm surprised that Germany hasn't packed it in on the EU.
Basically to me, the EU is like a boarding house with a few rich people, a few people that are middle class, and a bunch of hobo's crashing on the couch.

Except the "old way" is mono(white) culture.
Don't kid yourself, for most, veiled racism is 100% the reason they voted against this.
