CAD is tied closely to the price of oil. It's dropped from 0.78 to around 0.76. Not a dramatic drop like the Euro or the Pound, but a drop nonetheless.

It reminds me of Trump supporters, voting with emotion and not brains.
We feel the economy is bad so let's leave and have a recession.

If Britain must choose between Europe and the open sea, she must always choose the open sea."
Too soon?

But we're going to gain huge against the £, simply because of how hard it is crashing. Should have gone to London next month instead of last month.

Northern Ireland will leave for sure as will Scotland.
Self Preservation and not wanting to get economically destroyed is going to trump UK unity.
Leave the Brits to themselves with Wales. They can enjoy the economic disaster, while they re-join the EU separately.

when you think about it, a referendum where both the ruling party and opposition party are on the losing side, that's quite amazing.

Scotland and NI, and probably Ireland as well are screwed no matter what. England is just to dominant in the region.
But the fact that people are seriously talking about Northern Ireland not only separating from the UK, but even reuniting with the Republic says a great deal about how catastrophic this is viewed as being.

As I lay here just imagining the bloodbath in my portofolio tomorrow morning, that I know will eventually bounce back, I keep thinking of those millions of everyday joes in Britain, why would they do this to themselves?

The same way we'd have the WRP party in power if our cities weren't such a lion's share of our population.

Should we anticipate some rioting due to this? The youth and city votes got man handled so I suspect they aren't too happy.

Yes, it doesn't matter if you're talking Iran, England, or the USA. Low information voters tend to be very protectionist of their cultural identity regardless of what background the individual group is. They will even vote against their own interest to protect that identity.
In this case it was British nationalism. With Trump supporters, it's White nationalism, and in Iran it's the stricter definitions of Islam that has kept the Ayatollah in charge all these decades. It's all different flavours of the same thing.
