I think it would have to be Dougie going the other way if we were getting the 4th pick.

I've got it!
Lets take a photo of Dougie, staple it to Smid's face so that when he shows up they'll never notice! The Oilers' pick for Smid in disguise.
Brilliant! Sorted.

Lol, and what if their not? Did you watch the Memorial cup? Tkachuk had 107 points in the OHL. Hardly bust material.

No reason to trade Dougie..... Our trio of D along with trio of young Fwd studs should be almost untouchable

Hamilton to Canucks for their 5th.
Benning: We got Hamilton for the 5th!
Linden: Great job Jim! When's Dougie expected to join the team?
Benning: Dougie? I thought his name was Freddie.

If the Flames opt to deal someone off of this group, the easiest one to recover from is likely Giordano.
If you were to get #4 from Edmonton for Gio, you could more easily swap with CBJ for #3 for example.
I think in that case the Flames would take Puljujarvi and either Sergachev or Juolevi.
That way you would get the good RW that we need and a replacement that better fits the age group than Giordano.
That said, that would be a tough trade.

Nicely done. I quite literally laughed out loud at this.

I am far too old to be following so many ping pong balls. Can someone send me an hourly summary tomorrow? Locke, you have nothing to do...

The flames don't really have the assets to obtain another 5-10 pick. Bennett , Gaudreau and Mony are worth more than 5-10 range. I can't see them getting rid of Gio or Brodie. Hamilton i guess but i highly doubt they would trade him. Everything else won't do it. Unless a team is stupid enough to take a bunch of 2b/3a players and some second round picks. Very doubtful any gm is that stupid.

That would be massive overpayment. Plus, why would we trade a 6'5 soon to be superstar RHD to our biggest rival? He's exactly what they need. Come to think of it, Hamilton is exactly what WE need. No way in hell does he get traded.

Yeah! And you have an intern! Have you told him when you're going to start paying him yet? Its getting awkward.
