4th in wins, 2nd in save percentage, 1st in goals against average, and 2nd in Vezina voting. He's a big goalie, but will not likely be affected as harshly as others on the equipment change because his isn't 'oversized.'
Players like Gillies, Andersson, Kylington are certainly going to be available for him. It's just that Tampa probably isn't targeting those players...at least not as the centerpiece.

Anyone who watches him closely, what kind of goalie is he? Lots say he plays like Hiller but more mobile and athletic.

The more this gets discussed by Flames fans, the closer we'll get to Wideman, Raymond and our 6th round pick in 2019 for Bishop and Drouin.

I'd give up the 2017 1st for Bishop, if he agrees to sign an extension in advance.

My guess is it will be close to the Andersen cost.
35 + 2017 2nd + prospect + Ortio
Think the Lightning will want a cheap, young backup that still has potential in the deal.
For the prospect I could see them having interest in is Mangiapane - feels like a guy Tampa would like. They also need to re-tool their defensive prospect depth a little so as already mentioned maybe Hickey, Kylington, or Andersson. If they want somebody closer to being in the NHL then it would be Wotherspoon, or Kulak.

at this stage, i think it would have to be a 2017 lottery protect 1st rounder...
i doubt Calgary surrenders one of their young roster players however... picks and prospects, and maybe a mid tier roster player?

Yzerman is a good GM, so looking forward to an epic stare down between him and Treliving.

Does CGY drop 21 spots for Bishop and #27?

With Feaster involved in the Lightning organization, wonder if he's provided some input on his picks (Jankowski?)

If Treliving pulls off another Hamilton he deserves a statue.

I'm pretty sure Feaster is an AV or IT guy over there or something.
I doubt they put a lot of weight on his opinions.

Lightning beat writer says Flames haven't been given permission yet
News UpdateJoe Smith @TBTimes_JSmith
Teams have not yet been permitted to talk to Bishop's camp about potential contract. Would think that'd be possible prerequisite to a deal

I don't know, you still have a 1st round pick and the top goalie you could possibly acquire without giving up assets you didn't already have.

Yeah, I'd be much more concerned about a guy like Murray or Miller who are bean poles outside of their equipment.
Bishop is a big guy who has a large frame to go along with his height.
Murray looks like his head is way too small for his body when he's in his gear. Bishop looks normal, which should mean that any reduction in his equipment won't be significant.

Re: Bishop trade rumours, one thing we've learned about TB is they're not afraid to rely on young players. That's been successful at it too.

Switch Gillies out for McDonald and I'd be ok with that.

He's a 30 year old pending UFA that's going to get a huge contract.
There's more to player value than simply "he's good".
