splitting this off from the Rumor Thread as it is a pretty big rumor:

Treliving should get involved just to raise the price.

The GM with no NTCs is a happy person.
That has to at least partially enter the equation here. He has not seen enough to feel good about having that contract stuck on his roster.

Well, not really. Great goaltending will only take a team so far, and outside of Price and Subban the Canadiens boast an extremely underwhelming lineup.

Horvat + 2016 1st + 2016 2nd + Tanev + Hansen?
Then they sign Stamkos and Lucic after buying out Burrows. It'd be the most insane and aggressive rebuild strategy ever.

I do like a lot of things about Subban as a hockey player. I think he is unique and can be a game changer.
That said, I've never been a fan of Subban the person. Yeah I know he gave money to a hospital last year, that's great.
I don't like the lack of class he has continually shown throughout his career. I mean who fights 5 different teammates during practice in one season? Something is wrong there.
I'd be fine with him in an Oilers or Canucks jersey, amp up the hate.
