Cmon man, let's not go there. Would you say that to her face? Then you probably shouldn't say it. There could be a little girl with a strong jawline reading this right now and you just destroyed her confidence with a comment like that.
and this is why news/rumor only threads never work
You should be granted moderator ability wherebye you can lock a thread but still post within it. That way nobody can reply in any fashion and you as someone who obviously has a lot of resources can input the rumours without response. That's how this would work.
Only way a thread like this would work is to make sureLoss a mod. Then he can start the thread, lock it and be the only one who can post in it.
I don't see how people can't think these kinds of things are a good idea. All the actual credible sources and their rumours in one place. I like having CP be my one stop shop for NHL news, and it's obvious this thread is not going to pan out but something like this would be a great idea.

There is many more sources than Bob Mckenzie. I don't have Twitter and I don't intend on getting it. This is a situation where everyone can have their piece of cake. You want to voice your opinion? There's many threads to go do so. You don't have to come #### your opinion all over the place in a thread specified for news where no one wants to hear it so you can win some cool internet points.
I've always had a very laissez-faire attitude for sure, but I have never understood why people would try to control something as organic as discussion on Calgarypuck.
Start a new thread that's a duplicate? Watch it fall off the main page on it's own. Solved.
I liked SureLoss's new font box thing for actual tweets, I think that worked very well.
Just let it be people.

CP has tried this a few times over the past few years and it's failed every single time. I've started two of those attempted news only threads. Dead in minutes. It's just not a thing.

Maybe look at it from a different perspective. Some people want to read the rumour and the discussion/excitement that generates from it. So either the rumour gets posted in multiple threads or it gets missed in the discussion thread entirely.

You don't think it's a bit ridiculous to ban discussing rumors in a topic about rumors? How is reading rumors in one thread and posting about them in another sensible in any way at all? It's just as inconvenient as scrolling through the proposals.

make a sticky news thread that the mods can post in.
have all the newest rumors posted in the main discussion thread, and once we've had our way with them there, have the mods post the rumor and a little bit of talk about it or something in the sticky. it's a little work though.
it will allow cp to include those who don't necessarily have the time to stay glued to the rumors thread all day.
