News Update

Dreger says on Insider Trading Bishop looks to be primary target for Flames.

McKenzie says there is a sense the Flames may have been given permission to talk to Bishop - but they don't know for sure.
If the next contract is too expensive they may move on to guys like Elliott

I think the Flames would like to acquire a goaltender.

You could do a lot worse than a Vezina contender.

Bishop gets a reputation for pad size but the reduction isn't going to be that severe (even if you think it would impact him).

Was 90% of the reason the Bolts made the playoffs this year, he absolutely saved the first 1/2 of their season when they were busy being unable to score.

He's be a great choice, even better if it's a moderate price.

My two concerns with Bishop are his contract. If we re-sign him, he's going to cost $7+ million a season. I don't like that. Especially if the new equipment rules hurt his play.

I'm cool with Bishop as long as it doesn't cost 6th overall.

Does anyone have the picture of Brad Treliving staring at one of the players during the draft combine for the interview process? That was an intense stare.

Two hours from now:
Dreger on Brad Treliving: "It sure sounds like he's looking at MA Fleury real hard. Or Bobrovsky. Or Varlamov. Actually I think he is going to acquire Carey Price... actually I think he's looked at every goalie out there. Just listen to me, I like to hear myself talk. if reduction of equip hurts his play, he wont get $7mm contract a year from now. of all goal tenders mentioned, like this option as long as it doesn't cost us a first round pick, wonder if taking all those 2nds and pkg for a late first would do it.

I like MAF better

Signed for 3 years. Amazing career so far. Pretty much guarantees you great regular season performance and playoff contention. By the time we are sick of playoff chokes the team will be primed and hopefully Gillies or someone else will do a Murray.

Cross that bridge when you get there. 3 solid years would be huge for this team given last year.
