Default Will more Canadians go to Las Vegas?

With the team coming to Las Vegas, do you think that more Canadians will go to Las Vegas to watch their team, especially if the Canadian teams do good in the 2016-2017 season.

I would say that yes more people that like Vegas as a vacation destination will try to make sure to catch a game when they are there...most at my office have said they want to catch one anyway.

I find Vegas to be an interesting place.

A lot of people I know don't see any point in using vacation to go there, and those people have said visiting there to see their team play doesn't change that.

Then there are those who really enjoy going and plan to go next season already haha.

Short answer: Probably.

I'm sure it will add temptation to those that might not view Vegas as their type of holiday destination. But it will still come down to how much disposable income they have.

Sure. Any excuse for a weekend in Vegas is a good excuse, and with travel agents sure to include hockey tickets in the getaway trip it's a no brainer for Vegas tourism and travel agents.

I expect folks will begin planning Vegas trips around the times when their team is there. I wouldn't be at all surprised to see a very large part of the crowd wearing away team jerseys when Vegas is playing Canadian teams.

With more of my friends getting married and having kids every year, it's important to plan these things in advance. So we've already put it out there that we want to take a trip out to Vegas whenever the 17-18 road trip heads out there.

For sure, I bet a Vegas package will now include a ticket for a game on Saturday night along with trip etc....

Maybe initially but the dollar being so weak right now just makes American travel too costly. Plus the fact they intend on limiting weekend games so as to try and better build a local fan base (a shockingly wise decision) will hurt too. Giving up vacations days for a Tuesday night game in Vegas isn't as appealing as no vacation days and the weekend where the party is much heartier.

I think plenty already do. They may just time their trip differently.

Might steal away a bit of Arizona's tourism though

I just booked a return flight to Dallas for $438 to catch a game.

With the dollar being low I have seen flights have been cheaper.

Never been to Vegas. As a vacation spot it has always been very low on my list. Will adding a team there suddenly make it appealing for a vacation for me? No.

We usually go in December for the National Finals Rodeo, might as well add a hockey game on to the trip.

There is no doubt in my mind I will be catching at least a few Flames ice hockey matches in Las Vegas in 2017-18

Hell yeah, I love Vegas and catching a game now will make it much more enjoyable. Hopefully the CAD dollar is better by then however, Texas did some damage to my bank account earlier this year.

I'm already planning on it. Make the drive from Med Hat to Great Falls, get a $500 flight and hotel package for the weekend, catch a game and have a fun weekend. Sure beats driving up to Calgary in December to see a game live and only costs marginally more depending on your drinking and gambling habits.

EDIT: I also do a lot of freelance work for American clients and get paid $USD so the dollar exchange is less of a concern for me which would, understandably, be a consideration for a lot of Canadians.

I also have lots of friends getting married, I don't get why people have to do that, you are fine being a single, have a girlfriend and if he talks too just dump her but when you are married, it just screws everything up. I have 2 friends who are getting married this summer, I tried talking them out of it but they won't budge(idiots), when you are single can do anything but when you are married, you become busy, no time for anything, suicidal.
