Guy was playing great for the Kings too.

How would it work with for him if we wanted to come out of retirement now that he's fulfilled his part of the arrangement? Free agent or would the Kings have his rights still?

Damn. Was hoping he'd decide to eff the Kings. It would be kind of ludicrous to do so, but hey, one can hope.

All the best Vinny. You stole a Cup from us, but I always respected you as a player. Enjoy retirement!

In his time he was a very good player. As always with big players when they lose a step or two their game nosedives quickly.

Love when Iggy laid a beating on him in Game 3 of the 2004 SCF.

I would argue Vinny held his own in that fight which was a real surprise and may have had something to do with some momentum shift in that series

At least one of those defining moments

Yet he will be on waivers today?

Renaud Lavoie @renlavoietva
#kings Vincent Lecavalier on waivers at noon.

Hoping someone will take him?

They could just trade him there for "future considerations"... why waivers?

Crazy to think he was a sure fire Hall of Famer I thought after '04. Then his career took a nose dive and he didn't even reach 1,000 points and has zero shot of making it. I wonder if was the change of game or that big contract that hurt his play?

Yeah I don't think he has any chance. He hasn't been an elite play for almost ten years now. He only had more than 90 points twice in his career. He's just another player that was good, but not great enough to be enshrined in the HoF.

Matt Cooke strikes again. Lecavalier's shoulder was never the same.

I never liked him after he won the Cup with Tampa in '04, but I respected his talents and during his prime he was one of the best.

More so I respect his agents ability to sign him to some pretty crazy contracts. Signed that ridiculous 11 year contract which was heavily front-loaded, only to be bought out 4 years into it. Then signed that crazy 5 year contract with Philadelphia a couple days later. Insane.

The 3rd highest paid player in NHL history with $102,064,375 in total earning. And he's only 36. The man got to live the American dream to the fullest. Best of luck to him in his retirement.

Because the Kings are such cheap #######s, they want the waiver fee?

What's with all the warm fuzzy comments? I hate him and his stinky Lightning teammates. I hope he gets a flat tire driving to the country club, the roof on his mansion leaks, he has flies in his drinks, and it rains at all of his vacation spots

You suck Vinny!
