Don't see the team moving Backlund in a deal like this. The Flames need him much more than Tampa does. I'd expect picks, prospects, and if there is going to be a roster player, I'd expect Colborne. IMO, the inclusion of Backlund in that "rumour" completely negates the person's credibility.

If Bishop is getting traded my thoughts are it is a camp dump so they can lock up Stamkos before the courting period begins. Otherwise there is little incentive to move him.

On the flip side, everyone knows that we don't have a single proven NHL goalie under contract for next season. In fact, I think we are the only team in the league with this problem.

I agree. I also think that maybe the add Filppula in the deal to make enough space to keep everyone else. I would be on board for this if the price to get Bishop dropped dramatically. We could also throw back a couple cheaper contracts than Filppula

I also see the return being better for us than expected. But for Tampa getting a good return on Bishop when you have a replacement makes way more sense then just letting Stamkos walk. Just does not make sense to me that they lose a guy this good for nothing even if they went on a cup run without him. He may be the difference of why they didn't win the cup this year

I always wondered if Treliving engaged in trade talks last year with our first rounder/and or seconds for Talbot with no serious intention of doing the trade. But simply to make Boston think if they didnt move quickly with Hamilton, the picks were going to NYR.

On how the hot rumor this morning is that Tampa Bay is offering up Ben Bishop via trade:

That is incorrect he is a pending UFA silly for Vegas to take him when he can walk a week later. Tampa protects Vasilesky and Bishop either walks as UFA or signs with the Lightning around this time next year.

Blues and Lightning have no worries about their tandems. The Pens are a team that certainly should worry about losing a goalie in this draft

People need to use their critical thinking skills to differentiate between idle speculation and the reporting of rumour.
