Trieliving should ask for Crosby and Fleury for the 6th. Counter one ridiculous offer with another

Fleury has 3-4 years left as an above average goalie at most. If Treliving trades 6 overall for him he should be fired. Why would you trade a borderline top
5 pick when you could sign a younger similar player to a better contract in free agency? None of this makes sense.

I honestly believe James Reimer will be the better goaltender over the next 3-4 years, versus Fleury.
This is comical from the Pens. They don't have any leverage here.

Penguins have a depreciating asset with a salary that's too high. There's no way they get a first rounder. They'll have to retain salary to get rid of this guy.

Take a ****ing hike Rutherford. It's a buyer's market, and we're the only buyer.
If he wants to stick to his guns I sincerely hope MAF is the first goalie picked by Vegas and they lose him for jack all.
6th OA my ass. What an insulting HFboards-esque offer.

I could see 2 2nds or maybe 35+ a prospect like Klimchuk? Similar value to Anderssen who is younger and more of a long term option. If all goes according to the Flames plan Fleury comes here and gets the job done for 3 years and then Gillies takes over when he is 25

LOL....the Penguins are delusional. If Calgary needs a reliable goaltender, the Jets can give them Pavelec for free!

MAF wouldn't be the goalie picked by Las Vegas - Murray would be.

I seriously hope Treliving isn't pursuing Fleury. The guy is just horrible.

I posted about a month ago in the trade speculation thread that my NHL source told me the Pens wanted the 6th overall pick. So this is not a typo, that's the rumour that's been going around for a while now. Glad to see I'm a month in front of Francis. Here is my post on May 27th:
I heard a rumour in the hockey world that the Flames and Pens have talked about the sixth pick for MA Fleury. Now, before you yell at me this rumour is coming from someone very involved in the NHL. It also is just hearsay. I also wouldn't want the Flames to do it. Don't shoot the messenger, this is a rumour thread so it fits.

Yeah like someone else already said, 6th OA for Murray, not MAF.

Hyperbole much? The guy has had points in his career where he's been among the elite goaltenders in the NHL. When he's playing average he's still better than half the starting goalies in the league. His injuries and cap hit are the only concerns for me but I have no doubt he would be a great addition to the team at the right price (read: not 6th OA).

Here's another ridiculous suggestion by a Pens fan/writer:
http://thehockeywriters.com/pittsbur...de-discussion/
Brodie is only 26, and has a cap hit of $4.6 million. That is about $1 million less than Fleury. I think Brodie, a prospect, and a second-round pick for Fleury, Beau Bennett, and a fourth-round pick gets it done.
