The only goalies in the NHL worth 6OA are Carey Price and Brayden Holtby.

I would rather Reimer than give up anything of value for MAF.

I don't doubt he is wrong in this case, but just because they want 6th OA doesn't mean it's a realistic asking price.

Taking a while to get to 5000

Sureloss - Gotcha, so the team makes the deal and then approaches Fleury. Fair enough. I suppose you would want to make sure the player is only asked once it can be completed.

I'd come back with the 66th overall pick, take it or leave it.
There's only one team that needs a starter and there are at least 5 options available to us.
Don't like it, stick it and enjoy losing the player for nothing next year. Even Nashville dealt Vesey for a 3rd.

Is Fleury that much better than a guy like Reimer? I'm not so sure.
I'd rather just sign Reimer to what will likely be a reasonable rate, than trade any assets for Fleury.

Jim just won a Cup after everyone said he was horrible GM. He's feeling it so I'll cut him some slack here.

Look at what this dip over at Hockey Writers wrote today:

Brodie is only 26, and has a cap hit of $4.6 million. That is about $1 million less than Fleury. I think Brodie, a prospect, and a second-round pick for Fleury, Beau Bennett, and a fourth-round pick gets it done. That being said, I’ve played way too much Madden in my time, so take that for what it’s worth.

6th for Murray maybe.
If that's the asking price for MAF, there are better options elsewhere, draft a good player and pick up a stopgap until next summer.

Don't blame him for asking, but no way this gets done. Bet they settle on 35OA.
