pretty happy about this, as i wasn't hoping that anderson become the flames answer.

Steep price for the leafs to pay, but they have a lot of currency this draft.

The #leafs have had an eye on Andersen for quite some time. There was also interest from Calgary -- but being in same division as ANA hurt.

Really how good is Andersen? It seems like any average goaltender puts on that Ducks jersey and becomes a 2.20 GAA/0.920 SV% goaltender only to struggle in a different jersey. Not saying he's going to bust for the Leafs but they paid a lot for a guy that may not be an upgrade on Reimer.

Hmmm so if we had that Dallas 1st I wonder if this deal happens?
Either way this is good news. Takes the other most obvious landing spot off the table. Advantage JT.

If we'd had paid something similar, I think a lot of fans would be disappointed in the results next season.

I'm actually very interested to see how he does next year behind a bad team. His numbers and advanced stats suggest he is going to struggle. Could easily be Bernier 2.0.

Good, wanted Reimer anyways.

Hmmm good point. All things being equal, Calgary likely would have had to pay a premium. Wonder if the Stars pick would have got it done. Perhaps not.

Other than the age aspect, I would much prefer Fleury. I feel our second and a prospect like Arnold/Kulak could get it done. Maybe even Wotherspoon. They do like cheap D.

Why is everyone saying this is a steep price? They just got a young #1 goalie for the last pick in the 1st round and a 2nd next year (for all we know it is San Jose's pick); that isn't a steal, but it's not a steep price either.

Would love if Andersen took another Viktor Fasth nosedive.

He only played 25 games, but Fasth put up 2.18 and 0.921 numbers.

Andersen his past 3 seasons:
2.29 and 0.923,
2.38 and 0.914,
2.30 and 0.919.

Oilers got Talbot last year for a 2nd, 3rd, 7th round pick. Leafs paid considerably more. I think it's a fantastic trade for the Ducks.

Agreed, I could see this being another Fasth to Edmonton situation being put in put in front of a below end defensive core.

I guess this means Bernier is definitely on the move now? Not that I want him, but he's no worse than say a Cam Ward would have been.

This happens every year: goalies are always moved for less than most of us project them to. This is why I tend to think more often than not proposals for goalies are high more often than they are too low.

Andersson was not at the top of my list, and I am completely fine with the Flames moving in another direction. I believe that both Fleury and Reimer are better goaltenders today.
