Those could be percentage weights to generate lists. 5x20=100%

With the draft so close, there's all kinds of shows coming on about it. TSN is doing a draft preview, mock draft and something else. I'm sure Sportsnet will be doing some shows leading up to it too.

I don't understand the reports that edmonton will take a forward, they should be taking a defenseman they'll have first Crack at the best one

Possibly to replace the forward they're trading for a defenceman?

That's like saying the best forward is taken #1, the best d-man is taken #2, then the team picking 3rd should take the best goalie. IMO not one of the D-men available in the draft are worthy of a top 4 pick ( personally feel that none of them deserve to go top 6).
I also feel as much as Edmonton needs a d-man, they also need a power forward. Tckachuk on a line with McDavid is to good to pass up.

Ideal mock draft though. I hope Edmonton picks a defense but Vancouver taking Nylander seems like a stretch.

Not trying to be mean to "sureloss ", but I was expecting him to sound like Stephen Hawking.

AI has come a long way. I haven't listened to it yet but I would be more impressed with video or a picture to prove he isn't the internet.

I really like Cam Morrison in the early second and I hope he is one of the Flames' targets for that pick.

A question for some of you that have watched more of the Finnish prospects than I have...
Is there a chance Puljujarvi is massively overrated? I'm far from a pro scout but every time I watch him he seems to have poor puck handling and fans on most of his shots. His numbers in his draft year also fall quite a bit short of what Barkov achieved in the same league.
I guess I'm just looking for someone to placate my fear that we move up for him and he disappoints. The good news is I usually get prospect projections completely wrong.

Fans overrate prospects every year.
But there is little reason to think the scouts have.
However, there is a risk with every prospect that they won't continue on the development curve that they have been on up to this point.

He looks like a stud to me. Great size, tremendous skating and work ethic. Can run the powerplay from the half boards as a threat to set players up or fire a bomb slapshot. He'll be very hard to contain with his size, speed and skill combination. I don't see much bust potential. IMO he doesn't have the upside to be a 40+ goal scorer like Laine does but he can be a 1st line RWer for sure.

Benning on the Canucks draft plans
-He really likes 6 players
-Talks about getting a 1st line player or a top pairing dman
-Says they'll get a foundational piece
-Tkachuk is great down low, maybe not as big as Dad but better vision. Thick and strong
-Dubois is a better two-way player. Can play fast, skilled or play a heavy style. Sees him being able to play centre
-Says they want to keep Miller and Markstrom. Markstrom future #1, Miller can mentor him
-wants to bolster team through UFA to be competitive next year

Any chance a team would take Tkachuk at #3 before Puljujarvi?

To me the people who say that he's on the same level as Laine do overrate him, can't say how he compares to Dubois.
I think there's a chance that he's a 50-60 point scorer in the NHL, but everyone wouldn't rate him third overall if he didn't have greater potential than that.
He does sometimes look a bit like a kid getting used to his height when stick handling in game situations, losing the puck in his feet in chaotic situations, but bear in mind that this is in context of him being one of the rated prospects in this draft. We're setting a high bar. At times his stick handling has looked really good.
Not an expert but right now his wrister takes a bit too much time to release in game situations in my view, but again maybe I'm being too hard on him because I compare him to Laine. His shot is accurate and heavy but currently he's a guy who creates chances with his skating, passing, competitiveness rather than a sniper.
Depends on if you see these as weaknesses or just things you expect from a raw prospect. He does have a lot of room to grow. A lot of this might be old news a year from now.
He has a great motor and personality, fast for his size and competitive, he sees the ice well, and he has skills that are very good, skills that might round out into great but that's where you project a bit.
