Agree with all of that and hope that's exactly how it plays out. However if Clb has Brown as THE guy they want and much more so than Dubois, they may not want to risk having the Nucks take Brown.

Not saying there's a good chance that the Oil get Puljujarvi, just saying it's possible...and it would suck.

Dubois is basically Ryan Johansen as a prospect, so if they were to get Dubois at 6, I'm sure they would be fine with that.

They'd probably prefer Brown though.

And the way to guarantee against that is to trade Jones to the Oilers for the 4th and RNH (or whatever is deemed fair.

Columbus drafts Brown 4th and a Joelevi 6th

I know a lot of people are throwing Colborne into trade proposals and to be honest I am 100% on board with moving up to third overall to draft Puljujarvi, but is it not worth mentioning Colborne is an RFA?

So theoretically you're trading his rights, which may not be as enticing to Columbus... Someone please correct me if I'm mistaken.

It's his rights, but he's not UFA so they'd get him signed. Still has value.

They get a younger, cheaper, bigger winger (who can also play center a bit) who doesn't have a No-Move clause.

Worst case scenario for CLB re-signing him is they still save $1,000,000+ cap for a 40 point forward. More likely they'd save $1.5-2.0 million though, and like I said....they drop a NMC and get a 7 years younger in the process.

At least that's how I see the appeal from a CLB perspective.

Who has more value right now?

Ferland or Colborne?

Colborne IMO. Quite a bit more too at this point.

probably Colborne. But regardless, I would rather keep Ferland. And I would guess that Colborne would have more appeal to Columbus than Ferland does.

I love this as Puljujarvi, Tkachuk, or Dubois are so much higher on my list than any of Nylander, Brown, Keller.

I still hope we double dip and pull off a Puljujarvi and Bobrovsky trade using all our picks. Solved our 2 biggest needs

we didn't win the lottery, therefore we shouldn't try to improve our team...

Yes lets miss-manage our assets because of previous mistakes.. where we miss-managed.

I would trade the 6th and the three 2nd rounders for the 3rd overall pick, but it would make it difficult for Treliving to trade for a goalie. Maybe the jackets would be ok with the two later 2nd round draft picks + a prospect like Klimchuk.

I wouldn't bother trying to trade for the 4th pick unless it only costs the 6th + a late 2nd rounder + middling prospect.

Bobrovsky comes with a 7.425 cap hit for the next 3 years.

Do not want.

Sell the whole farm for Pulju, I won't care. I'll shed a tear for Kylington, but Pulju is on another level.

If they trade up to 4 and it costs one of the good prospects, so be it, but if they draft tkachuk I'll be friggin furious.

I'd be a happy Flames fan if Jesse Puljujarvi becomes a Flame at the draft. If it happens, super cool.

I love how the Flames are "aggressively" targeting those picks, yet no one has an idea what the Flames might be offering. You would think to aggressively target something they've have offered something significant and it wouldn't be unknown. I think this is pretty clearly no more than making inquiries which Treliving himself has said he's done.

It's all about the process.
