Did you even watch the incident or the reply? Chiellieni looks over and steps into him on purpose. LOL indeed.

Did you see your comment?
You said UFC style takedown - make it seem like Chiellini went for a double leg takedown.
Chiellini moved over but the guy still ran into him - you made it seems like a clear straight red was required.
OMG that guy hit Bonnuci from behind - that's a penalty in the NHL where is the red card

30 yards from the ball, Chiellini with intent stepped into and brought down an opponent hard. Bad miss by the ref and should have been red. Dress it up all you like.

I suggest you watch it again. Chiellini moved into the path of the player and stopped, blocking out happens a lot in soccer, the Swedish player was watching the ball and didn't see Chiellini and made a bit of a meal of it when it went down.

Ya, I have the game on right now and watched it over a few times. I find your version of events to inaccurate.

Ibra is lucky he was offside there because if he wasn't that was a complete sitter he just missed.

Sweden have played 160 minutes in the tournament and still do not have a shot on target. Ibra has been a ghost.

I like Chielleni because of Suarez.
I hate Ibra because of Ibra.

Then judging by your criteria that would be a straight red for #7 on Sweden as well. Just a violent UFC style takedown.
Personally I thought it was backing in which happens all the time - Chiellini making a meal of it since he wanted a breather.
This is more of the Italy that I thought we would see in this tournament - hard to break down defensively but absolutely no creativity going forward.

Yeah good quick throw by Chiellini and when given the chance to actually run at defenders Eder looked much better.
Huge if it means they can rest the big three defenders for the final group game.

From an Irish perspective, feel free to rest all the starters.

Yeah really tough draw for Italy - potential group of death. Then Spain or Croatia in round 2, with Germany likely waiting in the quarter finals.
Actually kind of wanted them to finish 2nd in the group - where they then could have had the winner of the soft Portugal group in round 2, and the winner of the England group in the quarter finals. Much easier path IMO.

I just looked it up, yellow cards carry forward until the quarters. No clearance after group stage.
After Eder scored, Chiellini should have hacked someone.

It's true - and when they appear to have an easy path they tend to fall flat on their faces.
