There are too many ways to interpret this poll.

Any of these could apply:
- Is MAF on the Flames right now?
- Will MAF be on the Flames by the draft/training camp/Christmas/the Expansion Draft?
- Will MAF want to come here?
- Is Flames management willing to acquire MAF?
- Is MAF the Flames' best option in net?
- Will Pittsburgh trade MAF?

I doubt Fleury would waive to come to Calgary myself. No reason why really, more just a gut feeling. On top of that i'm not certain Rutherford is ready to turn the nets over to a guy with less than 40 games of NHL experience, regardless of how good that run was.

there are other younger options anyhow that seem like a better fit even if the acquisition cost is a bit higher.

On the flip side, looking at Pittsburgh's financial situation... They have the exact same team essentially signed for this upcoming season. Cullen, Lovejoy and Bennett are the only pieces needing a new deal. None of which are likely to get a raise. They have the cap to re-sign them no problem (assuming Dupuis goes on LTIR - which is a guarantee). Keeping him for another run isn't out of the question here. Especially if they can only get a 3rd for him.

That seems optimistic to me. I too am of the opinion that it is/will be a buyers market for goalies this year. But no way the Pens give him up for a 3rd - better to just keep him and see how the season plays out.

I highly regret beginning that poll. I meant it in a different way, and by the time it was out there, I'd realized that I forgot a couple options. I take full responsibility for my idiocy in creating that poll. I wholeheartedly agree with you that I ought to be criticized for my blunder, there. This forum deserves better. I think I'll end the defensemen polls too, after today.

We need quality over quantity, for sure, and daily polls aren't the way to surely maintain quality.

You have to ask a complete question.

Should he be a Flame? Will he be a Flame? Do you want him to be a Flame? Will he ever be a Flame? Could he be a Flame? Will he be a Flame for Halloween this year?

Those are all questions that can be answered without guesswork.
