Good for him. Astonishing that Kopitar went 11th overall way back in the Crosby draft.

Great choice. I have been jealous since the day the Kings drafted him.
Easily the best player from the 2005 draft not named Crosby.

Kopitar is a beauty. Easily a top 5 center in the NHL right now and will go down as an all time great when it's said and done.

Not sure about that. An all time great King perhaps, but league wide ever? That might be overstating it.

Uh-oh! Clearly the first stage in circumventing the cap by getting rid of his contract!

Easy choice. Kopitar is something else to watch.

He said "a top 5 center [sic.] in the NHL right now," which I take to mean one of the current top-five best centres playing today. And he would be correct: can you name another five presently better than Kopitar?

True true.
I should say best skater. Hard to compare them against goalies directly, but I am Price fan for sure.

They're definitely going to be "finding" a bag of cocaine in Brown's locker someday soon.

2005 is a really weak draft, looking back at it.
After Crosby and Kopitar, the best forward selected in the 1st round is TJ Oshie. Kris Letang is the best D in the entire draft, taken with the 1st pick of the 3rd round. The three best D in the 1st are Niskanen, Marc Staal and Jack Johnson. Yikes.
Neal and Stastny are the best forwards outside the 1st.
Darryl is in fine form here, swinging for the fences with two 5th round goalies (Keetley and Kevin Lalande - I'd forgotten about him, did he even make it to a development camp?) and burning a 1st on Matt Pelech.

Pardon my ignorance, but when was Brown stripped of the captaincy?

I'm actually surprised by this, happy for him
I would have thought Doughty would be the easier choice but without being in the room and the happenings with the staff, one never knows and obviously can make the wrong assumptions
