Default Bryzgalov looking to make NHL comeback

Finally a solution for the Flames!

http://www.nhlpa.com/news/the-fire-burns-in-bryz

Quote:
As he steps outside to chat – the cell reception inside of his house ‘isn’t great’ – it’s immediately clear Bryzgalov is seeking another shot at playing in the NHL.

“When I told my son I was looking to play in the NHL again, his eyes lit up,” said the 35-year-old, who is currently an unrestricted free agent. “He was so excited. Now he’s older and he understands the game more. It would be great if he could watch me play again, maybe to learn some things that can help him.”
Quote:
Bryzgalov and his agent, Ritch Winter, hope NHL teams see the same in him.

“Having worked with (Hall of Fame netminder) Dominik Hasek on his return after a year off and knowing the training Ilya has in place for the summer, there is no doubt in my mind he will perform at the level he did leading the Wild to the playoffs two years ago,” says Winter. “With Ilya prepared to play for a modest salary and take most of his compensation in bonuses, this will be a unique opportunity for a team looking for an experienced goaltender to challenge for a starting job.”

Certainly not an expert by any means, but at his age the Flames could go PTO imo, but I do not want to see them sign him unless there is proof he still has the ability.

Fun character. Hope someone gives him a shot.

Just hope that 'someone' isn't the Flames.

... that's cute.

How about a PTO with a league minimum salary if whomever gives it to you decides you're worth signing... because that's about what he's worth at this point (and I'm not really sure who, if anyone, would give it to him).

He's only good with Sean Burk coaching him. I'd accept Bryz on the Flames if he was a package deal with Burk

With just a couple of teams really looking for a goalie and expansion coming, it may be difficult to find anyone willing to even give him a look.

I think there is a 0.0000% chance anyone gives him a look as a starter. I think there might be a team that will give a look as a vet back-up that won't cost much. Maybe L.A. as they don't have anything behind Quick.

Injuries will also play a factor. If someone gets hurt in the World Cup or training camp.

Its not his level of fitness or preparation that concerns people, its the fact that hes a nutcase.

I'll take nutcase over Hillers vertigo. Give him a PTO with an exit clause that allows the team to fire him if it's not working. Tell him no taking to Sam, Sean or Johnny. No goofball theories allowed.

I really want to see Bryz back in the game. He's had the best personality in the league since I've started watching hockey. I really can't stand the same old cookie-cutter interview responses and gentlemanly behaviour in the media from the current players. It's too robotic
