Why are they limiting Sanchez's innnings but not Stroman's? Both are young pitchers who haven't ptiched many innings before.

Jays win! Estrada with another fantastic performance. Donaldson was amazing again tonight. Pretty special player to watch.

Stroman pitched 166 innnings in 2014. a 20% boost bring you around 200.

I thought I read that the whole 20 percent increase limit was a theory. Not that it was proven anywhere. Might have been mentioned in that SI article on Sanchez.

Honestly there's a ton of conflicting information out there. I shall rescind my assertion that it is scientifically proven and go with the Blue Jays seem convinced on the matter and they have much more information then me.

Wow. Considering the pitchers that have thrown for Toronto, this is impressive.

Estrada has surrendered five hits or less in 10 consecutive starts. That's a BlueJays record.

Edit: just read he also tied an MLB record with 10 consecutive starts with 6+ IP while allowing 5 or less hits.

Tied an MLB record. Let that sink in.

But he's not an ace, right?

Didn't Nolan Ryan say "F This" to the innings limit and blow out like 3 of the Rangers arms in the process? I thought that is one of the big reasons why he was basically cast out of the Rangers' management team, but I could be wrong.

Yeah, there might all kinds of anecdotal evidence out there but look at Matt Harvey this year.

Conversely, the Nats shut strasberg down in the playoffs a couple of years ago for this very reason and it seems to be paying off now.

There is simply too much evidence of young pitchers blowing out their arms to risk it. Sanchez is proving to be an ace, it's not worth it.

I'll eat poop since I'm one who didn't think he was an ace. He just doesn't "look" like an ace. Nothing powerful, not signature pitches, he's just slow and steady.

He's basically been lights out for 2 seasons now.

Yeah it's crazy - he doesn't really have the "stuff" that you would think a dominating pitcher would have but he gets it done.

Leads the MLB in Batting Average Against now - just ahead of Kershaw & Arrieta.

That is hard to believe but really good company.

In his last 5 games EE is 9 for 20 with 5 walks, 5 homeruns, 3 doubles, 10 runs and 10 RBIs
Donaldson is 8 for 18 with 5 walks, 2 HR, 3 doubles, 7 runs and 8 RBI

No complaints about this start, against a good pitcher too.

It's crazy how he's good for at least one of these streaks per year. I've never seen another player go on these kinds of tears that are THIS huge.

Flipped over to the Phillies channel to rewatch the 1st, they showed the overhead on that 3rd strike to Bautista and it was 6 inches outside, not even close.
