But sure, Joe Big. Joe Better.
I'd take Teuvo.

I would have been happy if Flames made that trade. We could have made it work cap wise.

Carolina and the Flames started the rebuild at the same time
They were both bad teams that year when the Canes picked Lindholm ahead of Monahan.

After taking on Bickell's contract the Canes have 25M cap left with only Victor Rask as an important unsigned RFA and a goalie to replace Cam Ward on a team that was 9 pts better in the standing than the Flames.

The Flames need to sign Carolina's cap manager.

Slight edge? 46% more goals. 14% more assists, and Teravainen is a setup man more than a shooter. And it was done in less games playing with lesser talents. I can't even imagine the difference in their possession game, as Teravainen doesn't have one. I'd like to hear your take on Teravainen's defensive game and what makes it so strong to counter balance the loss of offense, size and possession game.

Most of Hurricanes important players are young, they are on entry level contracts and the Canes still have to sign half of their players.

See dude, just what I said in the other thread. Your logic is so flawed that it is hard to take seriously. It isn't a dog pile, it's just a gut reaction people have to an outrageous claim that has not connection to reality.

Teravainen has better possession stats across the board, it's not close.

He's also 21 in what was his first full season.

Colborne has years of NHL experience and is reaching peak age.

Teravainen is better defensively and almost as good offensively with years left to grow. What's Joe got going for him?

Please post the stats for comparison. Teravainen is a Baertschi level player, which we don't need. We need more beef in the line up that can play the corners and along the boards, not another midget that plays on the perimeter. I appreciate Tervainen's skill level, but we already have that skill level in spades. We need that skill level in players with size. Colborne ain't perfect, but I would take him on this Flames team before Teravainen. I don't see where Teravainen fits on this hockey club.

I've always thought it's weird that people can be negatively predisposed to a certain type of player despite actual results and game impact.

Laughable. And what kind of core does Carolina have? Gaudreau/Monahan/Bennett/Brodie/Gio/Hamilton are pretty much the same as Staal/Skinner/Lindholm/Hanifin/Faulk/Wisniewski. Also, pay no attention to the fact that Carolina is damn near bankrupt and likely to be moved soon. Exactly the same situation.

How many of these starts are dependent more on the style of the line than the individual or the role in general?
