By season time or episode time? I thought Arya Didnt get a ton of screen time since she's in Braavos. Season wise they needed to wait for the other stories to catch up.
Also, I don't think a lot of people agree with it just being time. There are numerous complaints about sloppy writing and complaints about the no one/stark issues.
By episode time. There really just wasn't much there. They dropped Bran for an entire season because he wasn't really doing anything important. Arya could have had her time cut in half and still got the point across.
Again though, I don't mind it so much. Definitely not as much as the spinning in circles Dany has been doing.
I think I get where the Arya strife is coming from. we spent the past two seasons, almost every episode spending time with the Faceless Men, learning their history, how they work, their prerequisites and skills, etc. now after all this time, it seems like they're just gonna get dropped, and Arya only taking a few basic lessons with her but essentially being the same person as season 4 end.
contrast that with Bran, who's been hanging out in treeland for almost the same amount of time, except we didn't get to see what he was doing until recently, and his training was interrupted so we still have no idea how any of his powers work or what his 3 eyed raven responsibilities are. between these two instances of having too much vs. too little information, I don't know which one is more satisfying (or frustrating).
When she finally had enough she went to Bravos to be trained to get revenge on those who hurt her. She was tired of being taken advantage of. The faceless men tried to instil in her a motto of no one but the lesson they were teaching her, not just violence and spy ####, was 'never forget who you are' (read it like Apu's parents say it to him on the Simpsons). In fact her storyline does mirror in some ways that of Apu from the proposition 24 episode.
I think this is a great point. It makes no sense for the Faceless Men to have recruited Arya in the way they did, if their goal was to merely make her "no one.". Even as a child she was the most headstrong and independent person around.
It seems as though the different religious sects are all attempting to put their own champion in place to rules Westeros. Arya is likely the champion of the Faceless Men.
The whole Arya thing was just pure schlock. Two seasons of build up to not only a ridiculous wrap up but a totally irrelevant one as well.
Just when it seemed the show had really found its footing it serves up a stinker like this one.
It was still better than half the episodes from last season.
I'm still putting this season (so far) as the best one yet. And since Episode 9 is basically a battle episode, 10 would have to be pretty bad to knock it off it's prospective throne.
Are there more faceless men that guy and the Waif(who's, actually not a man at all!)? Are they just un-seen in this temple, or are they wandering the world?

They could have done what they did with Bran's storyline and just skip him for an entire season. Do a training montage a la Rocky and catch everyone up in just a couple minutes instead of checking in with her nearly every episode.

Supposedly they are all over, but we've only seen the Waif and Jaqen.

We've seen a few more than just those two. Jaqen dies then another wears Jaqens face right before Arya goes blind and lets not forget Blackqen.
That whole Jaqen "death scene" was a little ambiguous. Also the Faceless Men could have the ability to change race as well. They seem to be able to change more than just faces. Their hands and general size seem to change as well.
The whole thing is supposed to be a bit of a mind $#$@, as we have no idea who is who. Jaqen could be dozens of different people for all we know. All we can confirm is that, other than Arya, we've seen two faceless men (Jaqen and the Waif) in the same scene together.
1) In the preview Jon says "if I die again, don't bring me back". Seems like a too convenient line to me and things have been going good for him this season.
2) If Ramsey dies, who will be the villain? The High Sparrow is working towards it, but he's not the same level as Ramsey. That would leave a big hole for most hated character in the series.
3) They have done things to shock the viewers before such as the Red Wedding. Haven't had that shock yet this season and nothing would shock more than Jon dying for good.
4) I think Ramsey's army gets defeated by the knights of the Vale at BoB. Ramsey lives but flees the scene. Sansa made promises to Littlefinger for help and I think he becomes Lord of Winterfell and/or marries Sansa. Jon dying helps to bring Littlefinger's character along.
More than likely, I'm out to lunch. But if Martin has taught me anything, it would be to expect the unexpected.
Jon's had his death. His plot armor should keep him safe the rest of the way, I think. But only time will tell.
If GoT re-kills a character before the end game of the show that:
Is the metaphorical Jesus of the show (see his entire story arc and the cross)
Has been set up to faceoff vs the big bad guys of the show - the white walkers (the scene when he is slowly floating away on the boat and they stare each other down is a showdown of whats to come)
They kill off, and then make a HUGE deal of bringing him back to life
