Because of a couple sentences in the worlds most popular fantasy novel said it was bad.
Thou shalt not kill is in there too.
If everyone worried a little more about under their own roofs and a little less about other peoples, the world would be a lot better place. Very sad that things like this still happen in 2016, with all of the education out there today.
Gay bars have a tonne of girls who frequent them as well. Gay bars aren't just for gay people either and definitely not just for men.
Depending on the city and the bar, there might be as many straight people as gay people. I lived in a small city where there was one "gay bar", but lots of the people going on any given night would be groups where only a few people were gay.
You can act straight at a gay bar and not get in trouble (you might get a few "breeder" jokes).

Hahaha, nope. No belief is above scrutiny or criticism in the harshest terms. People deserve dignity and respect. Their beliefs deserve none whatsoever.

There was a time when going to a gay bar meant you really had to be ok with gay guys and going to the can could be a huge test of how ok with things you were!! these days the bars are so effing tame you'd hardly know they were gay.

Often for women, gay bars are the bar of choice. I have absolutely been treated far better by the men in gay bars I've visited than men in non-gay bars. Women feel like they can go to a gay bar, dance and have a few drinks, and remain safe.
Gay bars are seen as a safe place for the LGBT community, but on a smaller scale, they're also viewed as a safe place by women.

Religion has proven to be the biggest 'cause of death' over human history, and we all know history repeats itself. Religion breeds superiority over others, which in turn breeds hate. Religion and hate are parallel.
In older times it was religion and arrows/bows/swords/knives/fists/torture devices/crucifixes, etc, that were deadly together.
I would love a world free from brainwashing and deadly weapons, but religion and guns together continue to be the downfall of mankind.
True but the point still stands. ive heard of straight guys working at gay bars and making a killing.
All bartenders at any bar make a killing. This isn't just a gay thing. Bartenders can make up to $1000 a night at any bar. Especially attractive female bartenders being tipped by straight "horny" males.

Oooh broad sweeping statement there. Remind me, how many of the religious have killed people en masse compared to those who believe in science. In my opinion there's a triangle of cause here, mental health issues, religious conviction and ease of access to guns. If you end any of these 3 then we have 50 people still with us.

It's generally good to be respectful of others and foster freedom of belief. However, the same rights that protect a person's ability to have religion are the same ones that allow others to disrespect and criticize that religion.
When it comes to anti-gay religious beliefs, those 100% need to be called out. The rights of gay people to live in security and freedom always trump freedom of religion.
