I had heard the hype for months that Saw was going to be the next horror classic so I had very high expectations. Although it wasn't the greatest movie ever like some hyped it up to be, it was very awesome and I will be checking it out again and buying the DVD first day it hits the shelves. The scares come from the built up tension rather than cheap jumps like The Grudge. The plot was great with a few nice twists in there. I would recommend going in to the movie knowing as little as possible about it. The word of mouth on this flick will spread so go now so you can brag to your firends that you "invented" it. Do yourself a favour and see Saw.

Probably the worst movie I have seen in years-- I felt ripped off at the end and I didn't even pay anything to see it! Save your money and see anything else besides this terrible terrible movie!

True. why watch Saw when you can watch The English Patient, The Horse Whisperer or reruns of Dr. Quinn- Medicine Woman.

I enjoyed this movie, actually. True, it didn't QUITE live up to all the hype, but overall it was a clever, well-shot movie. I thought the plot twists were effective. Some of the pieces didn't all fit together, but that migt have something to do with the fact that they had to edit a bunch of scenes out.

Overall, I compare this movie to Seven...though not quite as good.

I just saw the review for "Saw" last night on Ebert & Roeper.

They were not very kind to the director or the writers.

Oh good, I'm not the only one who didn't like it then-- maybe I'm just getting too old for that kind of crap?!
