Definitely not cheap nor concrete. Obviously taste is subjective, but I think they both look great.

Where they cut some costs is the east side of the building, as the assumption is something will be built next to it at some point.

Yeah, the eat face looks boring (thanks to the building code). No real way around that.

I have a feeling that this building is always going to look better from the street, than from above (especially on cloudy days), just becasue of the nature of the tile. I'm not saying that it looks "bad" from above.
The tile is designed to reflect light to get the shimmer, which won't really happen when looking at the building from above.

I'm probably in the minority but I think that building is an eyesore, irregardless of tile colour.

I'm not sure what's upsetting about that word. It's a sweet way to say 'regardless', but with two extra letters. I've made far worse grammatical errors on here. The real culprits are the 'then'/'than' mixer-uppers. That's who you should be saving your Law&Order GIFs for.

That grey tile does look like a purchasing mistake. If you're going to deviate from uniformity it needs to look intentional and reasoned.

The exterior facade was done in grey while the interior walls were done in a warmer gold tinted shade by the architects intentionally to create an atmosphere that will draw people into the exhibit and performance space.
I was actually quite skeptical of this building at first but it's turning out to be the finest piece of architecture in the city.

Feels like I've been stuck at the scanner all freaking day today, which just so happens to be against the window facing this building. I've basically just been watching them work on it all day it feels like. Actually pretty impressive how quickly they're getting the windows installed, they've pretty much done 3-4 floors worth of them just today alone (at least the 2 sides facing my building).
I originally thought it was a pretty meh design, but now that the glass is going in, it's looking better. Definitely nothing memorable or unique about it, but it's not as bad looking as I used to think.
Ps- and what is it about construction jerbs that seems so fascinating when you're stuck in an office doing officey things?
