Default What is the most you would give up for 3rd OA?

Thought we could have a thread strictly about moving up to the 3rd OA pick from Columbus, and if we were the GM what the most we would offer. Im interested in what CP would do trade wise. The MOST i would give up would be the following : To CGY: 3rd OA To CLB: 6 OA, 35 OA, M. Jankowski, M. Backlund

There's absolutely no way I give up that much in the OP to move from #6 to #3.

#6, #35 and one of Kylington / Shinkaruk is about as far as I go.

3 2nd round picks might be tempting for Columbus.

How much do you pay to hire the hypnotist to meet up with their GM?

I'd give up:
- 6th overall
- Backlund
- Mason McDonald
- our latest 2nd rounder

for
- 3rd Overall
- Bobrovsky

#6 + #35 + B prospect / low pick (5th-6th-7th rounder)
#6 + #54 + 56 + B prospect / low pick
#6 + low pick + cap dump from CBJ

Ha. Sounds like the plot from that ridiculous football movie, Draft Day.

Give to get, don't ya? Or do you think Backlund is just too much?

I believe Jankowski could be our 3rd line center this year, and this gives us 3OA and solves our Goaltending need...

I would give up our two latter 2nds and one of Klimchuk or Poirier. At the most.

I think it's insane that people think Jankowski could come in and even be half competent at replacing Backlund.

Nobody in this organization, prospect or NHLer, can do what Backlund does for this team.

OK - fair enough.

I agree Backlund is a GOOD 3rd line center, and Jankowski would be a step backwards there, but I figured getting 3OA and Bobrovsky would make a bigger impact on our team than our 3rd line center. Or will the step backwards at the #3 center role really make that big a difference in your eyes?

Not a fan of Bobrovsky. Just not sure if he is a great goalie, with a couple of mediocre years, or a mediocre goalie with a few great years. He is being paid as a great goalie.

O.K. there has been a lot of talk on whether or not MacTavish has actually done a good job for us, most fans on this board are very basic in their analysis and I feel would change their opinion entirely if the team was successful.

Agree with this as well... he also seems to get injured a lot.

Truth is that my #1 goalie desire in Andersen, but just playing with a way to have Columbus want to trade us #3.

Taking Bob's salary probably helps them want to make a deal, and gives us a goalie that we need.

* Maybe there is even a way to get them to keep some of Bob's salary, though I doubt that *

Depends on which Backlund you get. The one in the 2nd half of the season? I agree, an ideal 3rd line C for this team. The one in the first half? Hot garbage.

I just read a ESPN insider quote on HF there is no deal to be made. Jarmo was quoted referencing the Gretzky trade. He is not closing the door but this won't be a deal that makes any sense for the Flames
