There's large areas of the facade as of right now that are incomplete.
Drive by the building sometime, the facad looks even better than advertised.
Sure, you can take a picture on a cloudy day, where all the tiles look gray, but that's the nature of this tile.

lol - I love that type of comment.
That picture I posted (ok, tried to post) is from my office window. I look at the building all day every day (and drive under it every morning).
It is scheduled to open July 1st, and that is the facade (other than a few more edging pieces that are yet to be installed, and of course the western portion).

The facade will not be complete by July 1, at least I highly doubt it. I've heard that the building will actually be under construction until well into the fall. There's a lot of tile to put up yet.
Your office has a particular view that make the tile look different, but it's every bit the same as all of the other tile on the outside and inside of the building. They haven't pulled an entire facade of tile off and reinstalled something else in the two weeks since that other picture was taken.
It's not just a few edge pieces and the western section either, the whole section that covers up the window panels on the corner has yet to be installed, and the frames that hold the tiles in place need to go in first.

I don't know you're trying to get at here. And please stop trying to discredit me with the 'you should drive by it sometime' and the 'your office has a particular view' garbage.
My 'view' is straight on from the south, and I look at this building everyday.
The grey tile is different than the terra-cotta. It isn't lighting. They aren't changing it (to my knowledge). That is the exterior.
Oh, and what are you talking about with respect to changing things since 'that other picture was taken'? What other picture? Are you referring to the design sketch?

You work in the Biscuit Block? How is that renovated space?

Really nice space. But Allied Properties are to be avoided at all costs.
Edit: and good call! you know your buildings.

This Picture, they haven't changed the tile since. As you can see, it might be a slightly different colour tile (hard to confirm) but it definately has the same shimmer and variation that makes the look.

And I am talking about the grey that is also in that ^ picture. So again, I don't know what it is you're trying to say.

I feel like I'm watching the scene from the Wire, where half the team is trying to push the desk into the office, and the other half are trying to push it out and it's just stuck in the doorway.
That's what this conversation makes me think of.

I'm trying to say that it's all the same tile, with perhaps a slightly different average colour, and that it all looks fantastic, and that everyone else seems to agree with me.

Pretty straight-forward: they did half the facade in grey, which is different (and IMO much worse) than the original sketch.
Why You Need A Thneed is arguing that there isn't any grey, I do not know.
But I am done with that. If anyone actually wants to discuss the merits of the design-change, well that would be interesting.

Look at the section on the right of the first picture (or better yet, look at the pictures I posted as they don't cut half the building off).
That is the part I am talking about. It is not all the same tile.
Anyway, that is all.

The grey part you are referring to is still terra cotta tile. It is indeed a different shade than what's on the interior swoopy bits, but just as nice and has the shame shimmering properties that change color depending on the light.
Definitely not cheap nor concrete. Obviously taste is subjective, but I think they both look great.

Where they cut some costs is the east side of the building, as the assumption is something will be built next to it at some point.

Your original complaints were that the tile looked like concrete without shimmer - which the picture I quoted shows as false. The shimmer is very much still there. I wasn't arguing that the colour wasn't different, becasue it certainly appears to be slightly different. If you don't like the colour that's fine, but I suggest we see how the corner being installed looks before we make final judgments.
You also said that some of the angles were now flat. It is flat, yes, but there has been no design or rendering that has been otherwise. The curves of the building are all around the 4th Street facade.
Again, there's still a huge amount of tile to go, nearly every tile that isn't a full tile, or that goes over a window, or on the west side, isn't yet done.
