Yeah I think I've waited once right after work on the Friday of a long weekend. Other than that it is no longer than waiting for the car in front to finish at any normal gas station. Anyone who regularly waits 30 mins for gas is a chump.

So I'd rather get gas quick and pay less I guess.

Usually the Costco here is only a few cents more and has huge line ups. For 3c a litre, that's what, $1.80 every two weeks for me? Not worth it

I'm a courier and I fill up every day, but I would never wait more than a couple minutes. My time is more valuable than that.

I do check Gasbuddy every day though, to see which station on my route have the best price. I support Co-op, partly because I do deliveries for them, and the gas bar by the Heritage Costco is usally 5-10 cents cheaper than their other locations, so that's my usual go-to.

Yeah I don't get the lineups. There are way easier and quicker ways to save a couple of dollars like bringing coupons to grocery shop. It's strange how people absolutely hate to be in a long lineup when it's inside but have no problem lining up for far longer in their cars. I see these Tim Hortons where cars are lined up to the street for the drive through meanwhile people are walking in and out with a coffee in a couple of minuets.

You must go at the right times. A few weeks ago at the Heritage location there was at least a 25 car lineup just to get into the 6 or 7 car lineup at each pump to get gas at 94.9.

Meanwhile down the street I think it's an Esso gas was 98.9. If people really value a few dollars that much to wait in their car for 30 minutes, a part time job at minimum wage would make them a lot more.

Now propane is another story. I easily save $50 by filling up my propane bottles at Costco and you barely have to wait 5 minutes.

That's madness. I go to beacon hill costco and there are maybe 1 or 2 cars lined up at each pump during normal times. Obviously I avoid going at 2pm on a sunday and similar times.

I usually get in right away because most people don't realize that the pumps are designed to stretch around your car to fill up even on your non-tank side.

I usually go around 8:30 in the morning after dropping off my kid at school. The gas station down the street from our house always seems to be one of the first stations to raise pump prices. When I see their price jump, like this week, I drop off my kid and check Gas Buddy to see if Costco is cheap. At that time the gas station is usually not too busy because most people are at work or still dropping off their kids at school.

That combines two of my least favourite things - waiting in line and Costco. I will happily pay $5 to avoid those things.

The Petro Canada at 68 st and 16th av NE has been without gas for a week. It is usually the first to run out and then the last to get it back.

Not to mention you are idling your car which everyone knows is unneeded pollution.
I always shut my vehicle off if I have to wait. Besides I waited a total of maybe 15 minutes.

gas is $1.15 on Van island right now. Isn't it a bit weird that it costs more in Kelowna and price is comparable in Calgary?

Whenever I go to Hawaii in the middle of the ocean and gas prices are comparable (or better!) I kinda have to wonder, does our government tax us that much?!

i think the realization by people that the media might have a tendency to over exaggerate a bit with their headlines has set it

on friday i was going out with my daughter and the line up at one station was ridiculous. it looked like a tim hortons parking lot in the morning with vehicles stopped all the way out onto the road. i was chatting with the others and they said they also saw similar situations at a number of pumps.

yesterday i was out and was driving right by a chevron where the only lineup was inside the 'gas store' - only one vehicle at each pump, so i decided to stop in and top up my tank (only managed to get in 22 litres so my tank was already pretty full)

i think every news article and story was pretty much 'gas shortage in kelowna/okanagan' and then when you read further it went on to say how it was only a couple of petro canada stations only that are being effected at this time, but of course, the main title makes it sound like every pump in kelowna is either dry or will be within a day or two. it's all about selling paper's i guess (gaaah... i'm old... all about webpage clicks)

Well it's just one supplier, not all of them.

Gas actually dropped a few cents in my area after the initial media shock.

I know a gentleman who was a big executive at Suncor, I asked him to explain why gas has jumped up recently. He indicated it may be a "Sydney Crosby is a cheater" issue but said it could also be due to Taylor Swifts recent break up or the recent reports that gluten is not bad for you.

Why even ask?

I do this most tines at the pump. Meanwhile, cars are lined up four deep to get to their tank side.
