Andersson will be better a more valuable asset than Baertschi, so not concerned.
He's not even a 0.5 ppg producer. Soft, perimeter style. Yeah..we could sure use that.
Colborne doesn't use his size well but he had a better year statistically than a skilled Sven.

Bob McKenzie was speaking on the radio this morning around Trouba from Winnipeg and contract negotiations. While we do have other pressing needs, would anyone be interested in doing a 1:1 Hamilton for Trouba, straight up. Both are young but he brings that physicality that the Flames are looking for plus offensive upside.

Ya problem with this is if Trouba is wanting north of 6 million than we may as well keep the guy we have under 6. Plus Dougie was just finding his way in the second half of the season. I think he could have a breakout year next season.
No way I trade him at this point.

I changed my mind, I really hope we get a driven Ferland this year. Balance the lines out like this.
Gaudreau/Monahan/Ferland - Ferland goes in there and bangs. creates space, and he has a good shot. Johnny is the wizard and Monny is the sniper.
Shinkaruk/Bennett/Pribyl - Shincarrottop will only get better and has a very nice shot, he also plays more physical then I thought. Bennett needs the top 6 ice time, I think he is ready and is so talented, and Pribyl is a big bodied passer that really dishes the puck well.
Frolik/Backlund/Colborne - This could be such a killer 3rd line, the potential is there for 3 40 point players on the 3rd line.
Bouma/Stajan/Jooris - I know many have Grant pencilled in but I still am not sold on him. Guy looks like one of those great AHL players that can't do it at the NHL level to me. This line gives some energy and physical play. Bollig is the extra guy.

Man, trying to armchair a 2016/17 Flames roster sucks with Raymond, Smid, Wideman and Stajan clogging things up. Engelland too a little bit.
Good thing all their contracts expire after next season (except Stajan), for the ones who can't be traded.
Will also be nice to see what kind of contracts the key RFA's all sign. (Johnny, Mony and Colborne)

Draft Tkachuk. Trade Wideman. Smid retires. Bury Bollig and Raymond in Stockton.

They preach possession and then they contradict it with things like this. It's one or the other.

If he actually has a say in the matter, this organization is messed up. And if Burke really wants to micromanage like that, he's an idiot.
Seriously. A guy in the position that Burke is should not be the guy dictating who plays and how much. Especially when we're talking about an otherwise mostly irrelevant fourth liner. It's just so far from his job.

Flames trade Mikael Backlund and a 2nd round pick to Minnesota for the 15th overall pick.
Calgary trades the #15 and Michael Ferland to the Montreal Canadians for the #9
Calgary Trades the #9, Mark Jankowski and 2 2nds to the Columbus Bluejackets for the #3
Backlund, Ferland, 3-2nds and Jankowski to get to the #3 pick.
Calgary trades Mark Giordano and the #6 to Toronto for the #1 overall pick.
Calgary takes Matthews and Pullejarvi, both who crack our lineup in the fall.
