I don't care much about beef, but the sooner they allow it in the organic regime, the better - and safer.
It's only 'sunlight', friends

I have no opinion on this. If it is determined that it's safe and eliminates risk of food borne illness then I'm all for it.

Why would there be health issues linked to it?

Probably because it's still too soon to tell if a process that has been tested & used for the last 50 years is just too new to draw any conclusions.
60 years though......that'll really show the true story.

I'm pro-zombie. So if it's determined that upon eating this I will forever walk the earth undead, eating the flesh of the unliving, I'm also all for it!

Can we have the radiation symbol branded into every steak? Because that would be bad ass!

It's funny. I wrote a paper on this for a poly sci class almost 20 years ago. Looks like things haven't changed. In fact, public ignorance has seemed have gotten worse. I mean half the population now things they are gluten intolerant and don't get me started on anti-vaxers.
Food irradiation is perfectly safe and has been going on for decades. For the longest time Canada would do it to food they shipped to Africa, but did not permit it domestically due to public perceptions. People are just wilfully ignorant and scared of nuclear technologies. Lots of people get sick from e.coli and other food poisoning, but no one gets sick from eating irradiated food. Its no different than heating your food in the microwave or using UV to disinfect tap water.

Would I serve irradiated beef to my guests? Of course not, only to my nuclear family.

Ill take my chances with shatting my pants once in a while from food poisoning versus unknown radiation problems.
If I had a compromised immune system where ecoli would kill me rather than just dirty my drawers, then Id just stay away from beef all together.
