Fun list - too much food truck stuff on it for my liking though.
The Banh Mi at Thi Thi is one of my favorite things on earth.

Definitely missing the Spaghetti Carbonara at Bonterra.

OEB is alright - Diner Deluxe is way better.

Yeah, fun list. What signature dishes can we add?
Bacon wrapped corn on the cob at Palomino

Dark Chocolate and milk pie, oatmeal cookie crust, mandarin marmalade and vanilla gelato at Notable

The Sophia punch bowl at Raw Bar - A full bottle of sparkling wine built with Cocchi Americano Vermouth, orange flesh, fresh citrus, cream soda syrup, popping peach bobas and bitters

Artisanal cheese & charcuterie board at Wine Bar Kensington

That article is a good idea for a list, but it cops out too much. "Hot dog from tubby dog"? No, a gripper from Tubby Dog. "Tacos from Native Tongues"? Could you possibly be more vague telling people they have to eat Tacos at a Taco joint? No, it's carne asada tacos al carbon from Native Tongues. "Doughnuts from Jelly Modern Doughnuts"? Ok, I give up; this is no longer a "things to try" list, it's a "places to go" list.
Anyway, here are some obvious ones for me.
Foie Gras Poutine at BrasserieKale Ceasar at UNA Pizza & WinePatatas Bravas at Ox & AngelaHoney Hot Fried Chicken & Cornbread at AnjuNashville Hot Chicken & Waffles at Model Milk (can't decide between those two)Cheddar Souffle at BlinkVenetian Seafood Stew at Vero BistroFoie Gras Ravioli at DivinoCowboy Chop at Vintage

I have another few... but I refuse. You just can't blow all the spots.

Went to Lot 102 in Kensington last night, you know the place on the corner of 10th and Memorial but can't stay open for more than one year?
The burgers were good, however, the place is like a steakhouse and you have to pay extra for fries or a brioche bun.

 Would go back though.

-I don't think I have even heard of OEB. Any feedback ? |
IMO one of the better breakfast places in Calgary. Heard of all the hype around it and it lived up to expectations. Apparently they have their own barn where they source all their eggs.

Turns out hey are opening a second location downtown (where Malcolm's used to be across from TransCanada Tower)

Any recommendations for breakfast in the North that has a counter? I'm solo tomorrow morning and its easier when there is a counter.

Does the counter need to at the "bar" or with the kitchen or serving area behind it, or can it be a counter style table?

I guess you are likely not wanting to sit across from anyone, but I must say, why would you balk at sitting at a table for two with just one of you?

Ha. I just mean that it's easier to get a spot at a counter then it is at a table, there is usually an open spot.

Ah, gotcha Well I'd recommend OEB, but, it won't be walk up and sit. You'll need to down load the "No Wait" app. then put yourself in line for a spot, but at least it lets you time your arrival for when there is a spot.

So apparently Farm is closed now. They are still operating the cheese shop in the rear but the restaurant is done. Does anybody know if they are coming back with a new concept under the same ownership?

+1. We've been meaning to go here for years, and now that we have, we seem to go every week. Food amazing, service amazing, price is right. Craft beer on tap.

Himalayan is one of the greatest gems in Calgary. Unfortunately Avenue magazine agreed with that a few months ago, and it's probably more busy now.
