Looks great. Simple and majestic looking. Animal logo done right. Hoping for some clean jerseys to go with that and Florida will jump very far up the aesthetic power rankings.

Definitely feels much more like an alternate, and I kinda hope it is. As much as it's an attractive design I don't like it as a hockey logo -- I'm usually adverse to putting the team name in the logo.

Also, early reports were pretty opposite of this:

George could be wrong, but it seems like sources are disagreeing here. Won't doubt this is a logo they'll use in some capacity that some people may have seen... just hope it's not the primary.

to be honest, i'm kind of surprised the league would allow any team to come out with new jerseys for next season since all 30 teams will be getting new jerseys when adidas takes over jersey production for the 2017/18 season

i don't mind the panther logo sureLoss posted - it's very "ncaa"-ish

Where is everyone getting this Adidas rebrandingl?

From the icethetics article posted it seems like its just going to be a small rebranding.

Not to mention — Reebok is an Adidas brand. It's basically the same company. Adidas doesn't need to redesign the NHL uniform because they already own the existing design. Plus, the NHL and Adidas both said in September they are not about to make any sweeping changes.
Will the Adidas hockey jersey evolve in the years to follow? Almost certainly. But don't expect the overnight overhaul we saw 2007 to repeat in 2017. It's just not needed right now.

It's not that odd since the one in the OP was based on the description of the new logo from someone who had seen a mockup of the new jersey.

sorry - i should have added that isn't there a league rule that you can only change-up your jersey every three years (or something like that)? i recall a bunch of discussion about how often a team can introduce a new jersey after the flames came out with their current third jersey. so to me it doesn't make a lot of sense to bring out a new jersey for 2016-17 if they are going to be changing again the following season with the adidas brand.

if in the initial change all adidas is doing is changing the reebok logo to the adidas on the neck then it's not a big deal, but i imagine a number of teams will look at this as an opportunity to change up their sweaters.
