TeamViewer hacked; I'm looking for replacement ideas
http://www.theregister.co.uk/2016/06..._breach_report
I was using TeamViewer at the office to remotely manage and support every computer in the company, from servers to laptops, and now I need to find a suitable replacement. It needs to be something built for enterprise-level deployment, so not something that is designed for personal use.
Any suggestions? I'm doing my own parallel research as well, but figured I'd pick the CP brain for any obscure ideas, etc.

What's wrong with RDP? That's industry standard and you already own it. It sounds more like you need to get your network in order if you need to rely on an outside VPN protocol dependent on 3rd party servers and internet connectivity.

RDP for managing server is fine, but it doesn't work for assisting users remotely. If you can afford it, Bomgar is the best remote assistance tool I've ever used

Thanks, I'll check them out. So far, my research has lead me to...
AnyDesk
ScreenConnect
LogMeIn Central
Join.Me
I'll add Bomgar to the list as well.
Edit: Looking at Dameware too

What's wrong with msra.exe /offerra ?
That's often industry standard too, in most of the large companies I've worked in. Again, you already own it and it's internal and secure on your network. RDP and Remote Assistance are perfectly fine and no cost. I'm just really curious why they are not applicable for FanIn80.
For remote support externally, Cisco Webex is our preferred method.

RDP is a protocol. RDC is the desktop connection application built into Windows that runs on top of RDP.
There is nothing wrong with RDP; however RDC is nowhere near elegant enough to provide desktop support to the myriad of devices people are using nowadays to do their jobs. What about OS X or Linux support? What about smartphones and tablets?
If I was only worried about managing servers running Windows Server software, then I'd have no complaints about using RDC, but this is not the case.

I used to use gotomypc frequently for accessing my work computer from home and liked it a lot.

You must not have to support mobile users. RA works fine in a single office environment, but when you're trying to help a field tech in Rainbow Lake working from a satellite connection you need something a little more robust

We use LogMeIn, seems to work just fine. But we use different applications depending anyways. Lync, RDP/C, Teamviewer, HP's RGS.

We used Dameware at my work before switching to System Centre. It's a little hit and miss. You need to push a client, and have the right port, and admin rights, etc. The the end user has to know their computer name or IP.
We still have Dameware and use it on occasion. I was never really a fan.

Field users are on Citrix but Teamviewer and Webex are also utilized. In large enterprises, you do stick to one platform. User level OSX and Linux are never sanctioned or supported by application supported, even if the CEO wants to use his Macbook.

We used join.me for a while and didn't really like it.
RDP does work great for internal networks. We have tried to use it for external and it is a bit of a nightmare. The company helping us setup ERP software has us connect to their servers that way.

I was a victim of a TeamViewer hack a couple years ago, had all my bitcoin stolen from me.
Do you have two-factor authentication configured on your deployment? That was my mistake. Since then, TFA all the things! Also, I completely stopped using TeamViewer as well
