Default Is There Another Hamiltonesque Trade the Flames Could Pull Off ?

Rather than using our picks at the draft, is their another young stud player/s (RW, Goalie, Whatever) that could be a realistic target for us to trade our picks for at the draft?

Hayes, Atkinson? Thoughts?

Someone seriously needs to get Hamonic out of Long Island - I don't buy that he/the organization are happy again... he would be a good replacement for Wideman after next season.

It also looks like Boston is having trouble signing Krug though I don't see them doing another deal with us for a while after that beating.

I think Kuemper is a diamond in the rough and can be available for no more than a 2nd rounder.

I've mentioned it a few times, but Mrazek comes to mind.

He could be a prime target for an offer sheet. $5.4 million per year for 5 years. Compensation would be a 1st and 3rd round pick in 2017.

Wings match and they potentially face paying their goalie tandem $10.6 million a year for the next 3 years. Jimmy Howard won't be easy to trade IMO.

Obviously Holland would rather keep Mrazek, but if faced with the above scenario maybe he would be willing to deal for 2016 picks instead of either waiting for the 2017 picks or dealing with the cap hell that would come with paying their goalie tandem 1/7th of their entire cap.

Highly unlikely, but if you would have proposed the Hamilton trade 365 days ago you would have been labeled an idiotic homer making homer proposals for a clearly unavailable player.

Highly doubt it, but with BT anything is possible right?

Vasilevsky, Pickard, Varlamov, Bobvrosky, Greiss, Andersen, Mrazek.

Dallas kept their first, but do not have a second or third. I wonder if something could be packaged for Nichuschkin. He's not seemingly panned out there, at least as of yet.

I doubt the Flames will be picking at 35 or 56 personally. I think those two picks are up for grabs for a goalie. Another reason why I don't mind trading down from 6 to get a pick at 39-40 or so. Not much difference from 6-12. That way it wouldn't hurt too much if you sell the 2nd's for a goalie.

Also, sticking with the Detroit, and goalies:

Jared Coreau

6'4" 235lbs

Quote:
Assets: At 6-4, 235 pounds, he is part of the new breed of athletic goalkeepers who have great size as well. What often sets him apart is his competitive drive.

Flaws: Must become a more consistent performer in order to maximize output at the National Hockey League level. Also needs to work on his overall quickness.

Career Potential: Big goaltender with some upside.
Big AND athletic.

Not high profile, but two straight years of rock solid AHL numbers. Could be a dark horse pick up.

Already reported he turned down around $15 million for 3 years from the Blues.

Friedman reported he is likely looking for $6 million/yr on free market.

Why would that be?

the only reason he wanted to get moved originally was because he had a very ill family member and wanted to be closer to them in case things got worse. They didnt and in fact that person is now better, so he wants to stay put.

Great player but he isnt going anywhere now.

I'd think more, no? I'm thinking he'll end up with 7-8m. Size, leadership, a center, good faceoffs, strong 2 way play, puts up decent points, etc. Remember this is a UFA contact with multiple bidders so there's a premium attached compared to many other comparables

The only way he gets that much is if it's with the Blues. Nobody else can justify or afford dishing out that much for a 32 yr old guy. If he's looking for that he will be disappointed.

If BT does pull off another trade like that, it's going to come completely out of left field and no one will ever see it coming. So anything that is predicted here can pretty much be written off.

I think the most I would offer him is 4.5 to 5.0 for 2 or 3 years .even that's a little much for me but I could see some one offer him 6+

Regarding Mrazek - I've touched on this in other threads, but the compensation for the salary he'd likely net is a 2017 1st + 2017 3rd. If I am Treliving I either offer the three 2nds straight up, or trade two of them up to get a late 1st. 2016 1st + 2016 2nd beats the heck out of 2017 1st + 2017 3rd at least in my eyes.

Jonathan Drouin.

After re-signing Stamkos & Kucherov, the Lightning will need to clear some salary.

What if Brad could package the 6th for Duchene? I think it's feasible. If Roy don't like him, maybe there's a chance.

I'm 95% Sure Stamkos is not signing back with Tampa. HELL like i said on here and on Facebook before, I think he signs with a club that comes out of left field and people will be saying where the hell did they come from.Tampa has already insulted him with that ridiculous low ball offer and that he and cooper can't get along.I think he's gone bye bye
