Pavelski on the point twice wasted a chance to set up something and instead takes a useless shot.

Great goaltending this game. What a pair of finds for their respective teams.
Looking like a great series for the neutral observer.

Meh. Pitt is going to outplay and outshoot SJ for the balance of the series. This is the best team a good not great SJ team has played yet. Maybe they win if Jones totally outplays Murray. But I personally doubt it. If jones isn't really really good this is probably over in 5.
I really like the new playoff format by division. Let's be honest though, there is likely no chance SJ would've made it under the old 1-8 format.

That was a terrible call, and clearly made in an effort to even-up the score.
The Penguins look great. The Sharks look considerably less than great.

SJ will be fine. That was a really good game by Pittsburgh and a less than stellar effort by the Sharks.
I still think the Sharks win this one in 6.

That would require them to win four of the next five. I don't see it happening; Penguins are too fast.

I like the fact that Treliving was rumoured to have heavily pursued both of these guys in the last year. I look forward to seeing who he gets to be the starter next year because either he or someone in the organization has a good eye for goalie talent.

Can't believe how good Bonino is with the Pens. He was so weak, slow and ineffective last year in the playoffs.

The point is clear, but I don't think Treliving was pushing for Murray last summer, was he? I recall hearing lots of rumors about talks happening in mid season, but nothing before Jan.

Good game. Too bad Brett Burns screwed up on that winning goal by Penguins' Bonino. Love the play-by-play call on that winning goal. "Bonino scores? Martin Jones just lost his liquor license. " too funny!! San Jose will bounce back next game. Rooting for former Hitmen Jonesy. Also, kind of hoping for Marleau and Jumbo Joe to finally win the Cup.

Sharks looked absolutely gassed the final two minutes on the PP. The extra days off this series will probably serve them well.

Letang has been at a whole other level this playoffs.
Guy has really put himself up there with some of the best defenders in the game in the last few years. He's been Duncan-Keith-playoffs good this year.

After Murray, I think he's the next most deserving of the conn smythe. He's been a huge part of the best line for the pens and he's one of their best penalty killers. Every time the pens are up a goal and the other team has the goalie pulled, Sullivan throws Cullen out there with Bonino and Hagelin, both those guys are also part of the best offensive line for the pens in these playoffs. Just unreal play by Bonino.

No. Jones last year around the Draft and Murray this year around the deadline. He tried to acquire both of them in the last year.

It tooks like San Jose will make a series of it but Pittsburgh's speed allows them to win too many races to loose pucks.

Was it just me or was Malkin horrible? Plays dying on his stick, bad reads, knocked off the puck easily. Or did I just notice all the bad plays?

I don't know. I distinctly recall one good play in the third in which he broke through two checkers at the blue line by sheer will. Maybe I'm only remembering the good stuff, but there definitely was more than just bad plays.
