It is things like this at Glen Eagles, and the complete absence of ball washers on a walkable course(Blue Devil)that get me steamed for the price they charge.
Why are you taking a cart anyway? That's not an integral part of the game of golf. The cart, pin placement decal, and windscreen are luxuries, that you have an option to pay for or not. If you hate that they're upside down, walk.

My last post on the subject.
Glen Eagles is a brutal walk.
I consider pin locations an integral part of the game, not a luxury. If I walked,I wouldn't have pin locations.
Double Ks' response to the original pic was brutal.

All I'm saying is there are better options to display your pin locations, than upside down outside the cart 80% of the season.

I don't get the piling on of FragileMind. He makes a valid point - they could have placed the pin locations in a better spot. It's not the end of the world, but the placement could be better.

And for this, people are upset he isn't walking, he shouldn't golf, and he should never post in this thread again?

Is everyone in a bad mood or something?

I get the grumble about the pin location stickers - they should have placed the stickers on the lower part of the windshield. when it is nice outside, who rolls with the windshield up?

I too also think it is dumb when there is a distinct lack of ball washers near the tee boxes.

FragileMind is right, that's an idiotic place to put the pin locations. Definitely a lack of foresight from whomever made that decision.

Also, the lack of ball washers at Blue Devil is ridiculous. I understood it when they just opened but it's been several years. Also, they have some clown "player's assistant" going around offering speakers to everyone on the course so groups of dumb hicks can blast their ####ty classic rock when you're trying to hit a tee shot. I hate that course.

Yeah I've started noticing golf carts with some kind of wireless speaker on them. Is that becoming the norm? Because it's really fkn annoying.

I always play golf with music now.

Much more enjoyable IMO.

Also allows for small talk from other people to not bother my swing and shots.

Why don't you guys just wet a portion of your towel at the beginning of each round? That way you can clean your club after each shot, too. Failing that, these guys work pretty good specifically for balls:

I can't remember the last time I used a ball washer stand to be honest.

Hey guys,

My friend is having a bachelor party in August or so and he wants to golf as one of the activities.

What are some of the courses you guys would recommend in the Calgary and surrounding (45-60 min drive if needed) some of us play and we shoot 90-110s others haven't played before. Probably a group of 12 people.

Thanks in advance guys!

I would head outside of the city a short ways. Collicutt, Chestermere, Strathmore... people aren't nearly as worried about people being a bit noisy or going a bit slow. There's generally no marshals at these courses.

People can definitely ruin a good time if you have some new players with you and are playing in the city.

Are there any driving ranges in the Northeast that hit off grass? I am going to be in the area tomorrow and have a few hours to burn.
