Speaking of Guy Pearce, you should watch the Proposition..awesome movie (probably off topic because it got good reviews)

Taking Lives. Not just because of Angelina Jolie but this had a pretty good plot and an good twist. I really really enjoyed this movie.

Hmmmm, hard to pin it on a few things. For me, the tear-jerker moments were so "placed" and contrived it just made it laughable. Actually, I laughed at a few parts, much to the disgust of my wife and others in the theatre.

I'm so glad to hear I wasn't the only one. Some parts are wicked funny! Like all the times that the early 20th-century kid from Ireland sounded sort of like a late-20th-century inner city basketball-playing kid from Detroit.
Not to rag on DiCaprio's admittedly masterful acting ability.

Miami Vice-I thought the style in it was awesome. Michael Mann never diapoints, I can't think of a movie of his that I didn't like.
The Descent-Great horror movie, not scary in the sense that when I got home I turned all the lights on, but still very creepy.
Snakes on a Plane-So good.

One of my favourite parts is at the end of Titanic when Leo is in the water and Kate is floating on something. He's holding on to the side and she is holding his arms and they're talking all lovie-dovie and crap and he says "Promise you'll never let me go" and she says "I promise" and they pass out. She wakes up and he's a frozen popsicle so.....she lets him go!!
I actually said out loud in the theatre "Oh nice promise!" and my wife elbowed me in the gut.

Lives In Fear Of Labelling

My girlfriend at the time elbowed me in the ribs quite hard in Titanic when I laughed out loud, It was when the boat was going down, and people were falling off and bouncing off the props, I know I'm a sick and twisted individual but I thought it was funny damn it!!!

OK--time for a new Powerbook. This one has Iced Caramel Latte on it.
When my wife and I saw Titanic, I turned to her as the movie ended and said "well, that's six hours I'll never get back."
Looking at her watch, she said "it wasn't six hours. It was like three and a half."
I answered "Trust me. It was six."

Now THAT is funny
I'm a sucker for Gangs of New York ( I just have to watch it every time it's on)
Some of my other Favourites: V for Vandetta, LOTR and the Blade movies (even though they got super cheesy with all the wrastlin moves in the movie)

Nothing to be ashamed about that movie was hilarious and much better than many films already mentioned.

The best part for me was the hamfisted way they made that aristocrat-type played by Billy Zane into maybe the worst person in the history of the world.
I waited six months to see that movie and when I finally did see it there were some young girls in there crying for probably the 50th time. They sure gave me a sour look when I was snickering.

Everytime anyone brings up Titanic I have to mention how much I hated it. Kate and Leonardo had brutal performances in that movie. I'm just glad those two didn't get an Oscar for that.
And yes, Benchwarmers was awesome. "The sun is not a monster!!"
How did Snakes on a Plane rate? I thought it was wicked!

Here are my top 10 reasons that Titanic sucked.
1. It's longer than Lawrence of Arabia--and contains no "Alec Guiness playing an Arab" to brighten up the drudgery of watching it.
2. Leonardo DiCaprio
3. I knew how it was going to end before the movie even started.
4. Leonardo DiCaprio
5. It's maudlin, and the dialogue is terrible.
6. The story is pointless. Guy gets girl. Guy dies. Girl loses necklace. Yawn.
7. Leonardo DiCaprio
8. It's anachronistic, and pays no attention to dialect. I'm supposed to believe that Leo is Irish? That Kathy Bates is uppercrust New-English? Please.
9. Leonardo DiCaprio
10. Did I mention it's too frikkin' long? It's really long--and having a row of sobbing teenagers in front of you doesn't make it any more bearable.

Matador was very funny. Very good casting and lots of good scenes.
