How could he have picked out the people he killed? There were about ten people at the party, half left to go to McDonald's, and he killed those left behind after he had an argument with one guy in the kitchen. Sounds like he went to the party believing there might be werewolves, etc. there, and if there were he would have to kill them. But there's nothing I can see from the trial that suggests he picked out who he killed. They were just the people who happened to be around when he lost it.

Ya, and he mentioned regretting killing the girl, but that he "had to" maybe to get to the number 5.

Of course, but if there was no apology the same people would be saying "Not even an apology? I'm starting to wonder of if he's remorseful at all??!!".

anyone else think it's extremely arrogant to prepare a statement, why even bother none of the families care that you might be sorry you slaughtered their child, and he didn't even read it, if you're going to prepare a statement (I am sure it was probably the lawyer), man up and read it to them.

So mental illness isn't an illness in your eyes?

That's not what he said. You can believe someone is ill and still not want them to have freedom.

Wait do you think he gets to stroll out of there today?
I doubt that is the case.

The Crown is applying to have him designated as "high risk", which places more restrictions on how he can get released back into society.

I know this is petty and unrelated to the crime in any way...but it bothers me to no end that a 24-ish year-old university graduate's handwriting looks like something I would have done in Grade 2.

wtf they have to "APPLY" for him to be high ####ing risk!?!?!?!?!
That is the most ####ing stupid ####ing thing I've ever ####ing read in my entire ####ing life.
HE KILLED 5 ####ING PEOPLE.
NO ####ING #### HE IS HIGH RISK.
I've been slowly becoming okay with the Li situation and how he's been getting better and should have more freedom but after KILLING someone, there should be every single check and restriction possible on reintegration into society and he should have to pass every step with flying colors.
####ing ridiculous.

Calm down, it's a case by case basis.
Did you get worked up about them having to have a trial as well?
